So I beat that mission today, the trick? Towers, lots and lots of towers
if you off'd the flying guys like I did spam perdition towers all through out your base, seriously, spare no expense to taper your entire base with them. Also have a fleet of somewhere between 8 and 12 banshees to take out the nydus canals. Have 4 bunkers on each end with the standard Terran defense strat for each, ST behind, SD infront and around.
When Kerrigan comes by sick your banshees on her then have them go back to Nydus duty. As soon as she retreats rebuild.
And always have a few standby rines, bats and rauders to refill your dead bunkers
oh yah, perdition towers all around the artifact. Again, spare no expense and rebuild if they die
i did the mission the other day, did it on like my third try. i took out the flying things aswell because it seemed like they'd be the most annoying. i just built a wall of bunkers with siege tanks behind them and then had a huge mass of banshees and battlecruisers to rain fiery death on the zerg, with the defense spearheaded by my trusty merc battlecruiser. i didn't build anything near the artifact cause i figured that if they got through my main defenses then it was game over anyway. they didn't.
i found throughout the campaign mercenaries were pretty much the best buy, i almost always used them to defend my base or get reinforcements at short notice. the merc siege tanks were probably my favourite. in terms of research i found the flying scientist probe thing was the best and i always built a few to repair my fleet or my thors. overall great game, although the story and ending was laughably bad.
i've been watching some replays of top starcraft players, surprised at how entertaining watching starcraft games is, especially with some good commentary. i can kind of see how this has become a proper sport in korea...
