fantastic game but i have no idea how they spent 12 years making this... what did they spend all that time doing, it definitely wasn't the characters or the story, and the graphics are really nice but they must've been done in the last 2-3 years. i just can't understand how this game took so long to make

because they make a couple hundred million off WoW a year? :idk:

I'm having issues with this mission I'm on, basically guarding a certain something from a certain someone who's sending forces after you every few seconds. The nova thing it unleashes is pretty awesome but I figure if you have to use it you probably lost anyway....
My main issue is my FPS, need better processor >.<

hmm i don't think i've got to this one yet. i just did the last protoss crystal mission, it was soooo good. i think if i play online i'll use protoss because they seem pretty awesome, what with their warping and big lasers

Lol, db...

So I beat that mission today, the trick? Towers, lots and lots of towers
if you off'd the flying guys like I did spam perdition towers all through out your base, seriously, spare no expense to taper your entire base with them. Also have a fleet of somewhere between 8 and 12 banshees to take out the nydus canals. Have 4 bunkers on each end with the standard Terran defense strat for each, ST behind, SD infront and around.
When Kerrigan comes by sick your banshees on her then have them go back to Nydus duty. As soon as she retreats rebuild.
And always have a few standby rines, bats and rauders to refill your dead bunkers
oh yah, perdition towers all around the artifact. Again, spare no expense and rebuild if they die

i did the mission the other day, did it on like my third try. i took out the flying things aswell because it seemed like they'd be the most annoying. i just built a wall of bunkers with siege tanks behind them and then had a huge mass of banshees and battlecruisers to rain fiery death on the zerg, with the defense spearheaded by my trusty merc battlecruiser. i didn't build anything near the artifact cause i figured that if they got through my main defenses then it was game over anyway. they didn't.

i found throughout the campaign mercenaries were pretty much the best buy, i almost always used them to defend my base or get reinforcements at short notice. the merc siege tanks were probably my favourite. in terms of research i found the flying scientist probe thing was the best and i always built a few to repair my fleet or my thors. overall great game, although the story and ending was laughably bad.

i've been watching some replays of top starcraft players, surprised at how entertaining watching starcraft games is, especially with some good commentary. i can kind of see how this has become a proper sport in korea...

dude the mercs are so sick, idk if you can use em in versus since I never play terran online but if so that'd be amazin
I got the ravens, the dropping turrets and seeker missiles were too appealing too pass up
and the ending, I actually really liked it, since its gonna be a trilogy I really wanna see how they go with it in the next installment
I mean...I'm pretty sure I know at this point but still, I'm hoping they throw a cool twist in there
dude, add me! rmelendez89@gmail.com
I'm playing protoss, like dedicated, in vs

haha my problems with the story were basically the thing at the end with tychus didn't really make sense and i didn't like how kerrigan was basically reduced to damsel in distress. i am interested to see what happens next though and i thought stuff like the music and cinematics really made story feel epic even though it was kinda poorly written.

i've only played one match online as protoss and i got slaughtered, might switch to terran cause they have some really cool tactics in versus. like one tactic i saw people use was right at the start of the match they get planetary fortress for their command centre, which gives them a big gun on the command centre, and then they just fly it over to the other base and kill everyone with the command centre gun haha. i kinda love those really gimmicky but hilarious tactics that piss off your opponent.

just played one vs a Terran guy who lifted off at the beginning of the fight to a spot that can only be reached by flyers or drop ships. Owned me by sending banshees to take me out

ouch. i always make tons of sentinals because i'm worried about flying units. my usual tactic with protoss is make 2 warp gates and make loads of sentinals and zealots, then do an early attack with my small army. if that doesn't work i just hold out for a bit longer and make colossi then storm their base later on. it worked pretty well against a terran guy earlier but he didn't seem like a very good player, much like me.

sentinels?
.....stalkers?

the ending thing w/ Tychus was kinda forshadowed throughout the entire campaign, arcturus wanted him to kill Kerrigan and probably Jim too, it's why he let him out in the first place.

my usual tech tree is
10 probes, by the time the 9th is in queue build 2 pylons
when the first pylon finishes start queuing up more probes, and chorno boost
keep doing this till up to 20 probes, all 20 for gathering minerals, around the time the 16th is first in the queue (which should be full, and always chrono boost it to build probes) build a forge and a gateway
once the forge finishes build assimilators, and build some cannons near your entrance, like 4 of em in case of a rush, chorono boost the gateway for 6 probes so you get 3 for each assimilator.
AS SOON as the gateway finishes I build a cybernetics core and start building pylons all around your base, leaving no area unpowered and start putting up at least 6 gateways, usually up to 9
once they cybernetics core is done I do the warp gate upgrade and keep boosting it up, also once its done I build a twilight council and a robotics facility for observers and warp prisms.
once the warp gate upg is done I turn all the gateways into them.

from there it depends on the fight, but thats pretty much my strat for the first like 15mins or so :D
