Yes, there were reasons. Just to get my noggin thinking differently. I feel like I've been on the same brain feedback loop for years. It was good to take a break. It inspired me to take a mini-vacation and go hiking 6 hours a day for a few days.

I specifically weened off. The first day, I cut down from 3 cups of coffee to a 10 oz cup (I think I got the most mileage out of that day... that was a mildly uncomfortable night [not rough, not hard, just slightly more than slightly aggravating], the next day 8 oz, another day of 8, then 6 oz... I was going to go 4 oz the next day but I think I had mentally prepped myself so much I just forewent it... and rolled with it form there. I'm not going to pretend I didn't take Tylenol (Acetaminophen) that night. Lots of exercise and eating healthy will help mitigate symptoms of caffeine withdrawal. I drank a lot of beat juice and ate a fair amount of raw garlic. That said... my endocrine system craved an insane amount of sugar (I caved... I let myself eat whatever I want).

I am not a scientist or doctor. This is what I did and I just used intuition and imagination and went with the flow. I didn't even reference a video of how to quit. I was just like "Okay... this will be a good bit. Let's make a spreadsheet."

I don't really feel the need to do it because I really love coffee? And I don't think my intake is causing big problems. But it does annoy me a bit that my body is so used to it I seem to get withdrawal without it.

I like coffee with cannabis infused coconut oil. So good.

that sounds... super interesting. Can't get the cannabis part in my part of the world but I have coconut oil. Do you mix it in like milk? Wacky

Y'all have any decaf that you like? I quit coffee for a month because I thought it might help me sleep better (it didn't) but am finding I miss the ritual of the french press in the morning and now regular coffee makes me anxious and not necessarily more productive. I tried the decaf from a couple local brands whose other offerings I usually like, but it's just... not good lol. Tea also doesn't do it for me as a substitute.

yeah, don't know about cannabis... THC? CBD? maybe worth a try sometime...

but as for the oil: DOOOO it!
If you got a blender go for bullet proof coffee style:

cup of strong coffee + 1-2 spoons of butter & coconut (depending how luxurious you're feeling that day)

it turns into this yummy frothy goodness
that is also supposed to have a flatter longer caffeine effect thanks to the two fats

So I tried the coffee + coconut oil.... It wasn't horrible but I prefer normal coffee.

But yeah, tastes differ...
And if you just put the coconut oil in the cup and stir a little...
that oil spill on your coffe sure isn't very pleasing to look at

Straight coffee and coffee w/ coconut oil are like two totally different taste sensations.
