I just want to say the guys on Pedals and Effects should be embarrassed they don’t know about Drolo pedals. Nick claims to be Mr. Glitch, lol. I swear it seems like all they know is EarthQuaker Devices and Meris stuff.
I mean, honestly, all they really know about is the stuff given/suggested to them and shit from the '90s.
Just look at their boards. :snax:
True, maybe I just feel like Nick comes across very arrogant like he knows more than anyone else about pedals. Lately their show has become like a B rate Sweetwater demo channel to me.

Definitely. I'm not trying to shit on them or anything, it's just that there can be this misconception that because they've done a bunch of pedal demos that they must know a lot about them, or even just know a lot of pedals/builders, when I've noticed that it's almost entirely that the stuff they know about is either stuff they were into when they first started collecting, or stuff from builders they've met. :idk:

More than once they try to explain something they've played with in order to know and understand, and they butcher it, yet I get what it's doing whilst never having touched it. Idk, throwing shade at other demoers in this Mood demo was definitely one of the most ridiculous things I've heard in recent memory.

Agreed. Only use the CT5 for one thing and this seems to do that one thing plus has a lot more different things to explore so just ordered one

I understand and respect what you are saying. Maybe I should of just stuck to talking about the MOOD pedal. Yet I can express my opinion. Relating back to the pedal... Seems like it can give some cool field recording like sounds in the looping part? I like that a lot. I have wanted to incorporate that more into my music.

No, I'm pretty sure UC's talking about where Nick says, "I hate going on Youtube, I don't I don't like pedal youtube". He wasn't referring to your criticism of their video.

Unrelated but also semi-related:

I never felt this way before (even when it was blatantly obvious) but I'm starting to get a sour taste from all of these embargo-demos that get released like a shotgun blast from the same 5-10 content creators on youtube.

The synth community is plagued by the same individuals who have a lot of nice equipment but rarely release anything worth a shit with them, but are good advertising platforms for all of these companies. I appreciated it before when it seemed like smaller brands got the spotlight, but now I feel like it has become a problem and nobody can give their actual opinion on anything due to fear of losing their free synths/pedals/demos.

I don't mind it with CBA since they make quality pedals that have significant depth, but idk, the whole culture around synths and pedals on youtube has become artificial to me.

I put this on in the background and thought, "This sounds cool---pushes it further than the other demos." Then I scroll down to see the feedback, and it's 10/9 on voting. So people want weird pedals, but just not weird sounds? OK.

I appreciate the enthusiasm, but the presentation is bleh. I don't understand how people can sit through Juan & Nick talking about a pedal for 18 minutes, let alone 43.

This pedal intrigues me 'cause it's basically what I've been doing with the two effects loops of my mixer, feeding things back and forth to glop and granulate and so on. 60 Second Delay + Bakvendt into Count to 5 + Molecular Disruptor (and back and forth and back) gets me a certain amount of what I'm hearing in the demos.

Would be nice to do it all in one pedal with this, but I'm not in acquisition mode right now.

band (spontaneous kosmische): https://stargoon.bandcamp.com/

I also help co-ordinate Okta, ILF's collaborative community ambient project: https://okta.bandcamp.com

For once, I would totally love hearing a Johnny Demarco demo for the MOOD, if only for a change of pace. But it seems like the flood of glad handing demos only intensify lately, but that's what the landscape has become. But if that flood sells out the first and second run of pedals, hopefully it'll allow for cooler tools to pass through the fray, eventually. I mean, I still primarily buy outdated gear manufactured by mega corporations with lots of inherent limitations & build flaws (because thrift), so watching really old YT potato demos, one fanzine reader writes-type pre-anger management vids, and awkward eBay demonstrations et al are really refreshing antidote all this hype dust. Will any of us be around in 20 years when all demos are 15 seconds long, and RoboJuan and RoombaNick are still in the same dimly lit garage and slinging something for 3.5 hrs?

If you are reading this in the future, please accept this message of peace:
