so, seeing this thread made me want to go find somebody willing to trade one of my pedals for this, and unexpectedly found him. Got it coming in a couple of weeks, excited to see if it's worth its fame!

Ms-70cdr. Really curious to see if I can get a couple of sounds I've got in my mind messing with delays and some modulations/ring modibarakishi wrote:Dowi wrote:so, seeing this thread made me want to go find somebody willing to trade one of my pedals for this, and unexpectedly found him. Got the Zoom ms 70cdr a couple days ago. Left channel doesn't work at all, did some research and found out it's a factory problem that more than a few users have had, so now it's returning to the original owner. Meanwhile I got the chance to mess around with it using the right channel as mono and I must say I'm quite impressed. Just ordered one from elsewhere, hope this will be in full working condition.

Just guitar and kalimba. I planned to grab it for easy multiple effects chaining and occasional really specific sounds in live situations without having to change the settings of the rest of the board

Re: Zoom MEGA Thread (ms-50g , ms-70CDR , G1 , G3n, ....)
Back in the game with a new ms-70cdr. Made a few patches with the desktop editor (I don't even want to think how much time it would take to do it entirely on the pedal). It is really useful to have a general impression of different effects I was never enough interested to buy.
So far I have used it only as standalone unit with guitar and amp, just to start to create something, then I m going to place it in chain with the other effects and see how it works tonally. I must say I'm not super happy about the general coldness of its digital character, but I grabbed it for the functionality, and for the price it's totally reasonable.

Was trying some stuff put tonight. I have a bunch of patches creates now, some I'm very happy with and others works in progress. In case anyone wants some patches/inspiration for better patches, here's what I've come up with. (incl text codes for the online editor.)
Gabbler
- reduces sounds to bloopy chunks
Embiggen
- a subtle enhancer and stereo-spreader
Ghoster
- sounds as sung by dead spirits
StepperOne
- a 'musical' step delay
ch-ch-ch
- bouncing sound fragments
SynthDown
- sounds like losing a life in Donkey Kong
Arpeggiate
- doesn't really live up to its name

Sorry for the question as I'm sure I read it somewhere and can't find it in the serach, but what's the difference between ms-50g and ms-70cdr?
edit : from Zoom website, ms50g has amp simulation, but are the effects all the same as on the ms-70cdr?

Mono only input on the 50g. May or may not matter to you. The amp and distortions aren’t great, but may be perfect as a helper in your custom chain you build in the Zoom, or at least as compared to not having dirt in the chain.
