I'm here because I like pedals that make weird noises, and this is one of the few places I know where people have listened to my daft recordings of weird noises and not looked at me like I'm strange.
Having said that, I feel a little outside the "group", but that's because most of you have been here way longer than me so no wonder. I don't see it as a problem just how things are.
The good news (maybe) is that I've stopped buying more and more expensive pedals which I don't understand how to use and taken up making pedals instead.
Because they're very easy to get started with, mostly I have made fuzz pedals. Despite the knowledge that there are hundreds of (sometimes only slightly) different fuzz pedals out there already I do fancy trying to make something interesting, even if it's unlikely to be wildly new.
The only thing is, I don't want to make a business out of it, so I'm not putting my hand up as a builder - but might make the odd one or two for someone if asked (I'm not expecting to be asked so it's easy enough to say that

)
As for the forum, I think they all go the same way - start strong, get really busy for a while and then people grow older, have kids, find other things that interest them etc. and then they go quiet for a while. That doesn't mean they're over and done with, but it might be a while (if ever) before it gets lively again - the one good thing is that there are still kids putting bands together and everything cycles round and round, so fuzz will rise again
