I lived in london for a short period of time and currently live in america andone of my favourite past times is drinking weird soft drinks i've never seen or had before. On tour it's like all i do. Get high in my van, go to weird gas stations and buy some weird shit.
I've had every soft drink mentioned in this thread (sans for crystal pepsi) and my humble opinion follows as such:
When i lived in london i could get barqs at many a tesco or sainsbury. Or you could get that weird whole foods root beer that's actually pretty good. Mind you guys, root beer is my favourite drink in the world!
Iron-bru: fuck this shit. It's similar to champagne cola except with a bit of a bite, and slightly more bitter. I was not a fan.
Dandelion & Burdock: Is indeed the UK's answer to root beer, and it's pretty damn good. Much less sweet, much closer to the true "sasparilla" flavour. Fucking weird. I drank a lot of it.
Iron Beer: This shit is fuckin' wacky. I bought this on tour in texas somewhere and i was like WTF. It tastes like bubble gum..
The best part about soft drinks in the uk is that they are indeed made with real sugar. They don't fuck with high fructose corn syrup generally, and it rules.
AND THE SNACKS IN THE UK?! OMFG WALKER>LAYS ANY DAY OF THE WEEK
they had squirrel flavoured chips, and duck flavoured chips and roast chicken flavoured chips and US AMERICANS HAVE BORING SHIT LIKE SOUR CREAM AND ONION AND SALT & PEPPER.
SCRUFFIE I THINK I NEED A CARE PACKAGE.
AND THE DORITIOS IN THE UK?! MORE MSG THAN GOD.
for real. i was eating like a bag a day it was that addicting. the flavour was strong as fuck.
I used to eat a ton of the "spicy chili" ones. which are spicy because of the ungodly amount of MSG.
there was one snack... i forget what it was called... monster... something. Best things EVER.
i miss the uk!
anyone into the idea of trading care packages?
