These are the newsletter prices that I've seen for the new Korgs.

$199 modular
$149 digital drum
$649 Minilogue XD

Apparently they’re limiting the custom oscillator to have a six parameter limit? An infinite number of doors as long as you only want no more than six doors?

It also looks like the only sequencing aspect they took from the monologue was the sequencer buttons, not the transpose.

So, it’s cool, but where it doesn’t have transpose and they’re arbitrarily limiting what you can do with the “custom” oscillator, I’m gonna pass. I’ve got other nice sounding synths, and they have transposable sequencers

It’s the same on the Prologue. There’s really 7 because you have the shape knob for the oscillator and the 6 pages in the edit menu. I believe it’s both to keep things uniform and to save space. The custom oscillators have a really small memory size they need to fit into

I’m excited to see more oscillators coming out for the Prologue now that they’re super accessible with the XD. I also am surprised the volcas are real, but both are things I’ve been wanting so I won’t complain.

If it’s a size limit, then shouldn’t it just be a character limit on the code? I’m not familir with C++ but if it’s like anything else I’ve dealt with, the code doesn’t necessarily get larger if it’s more complicated?

Apparently the Minilogue XD DOES transpose sequences. So, I’ll definitely be picking one up on a preorder.

The new Korgs all look great. I like them but I Don't think I'll make a point of getting any of them. Probably snag the volcas used some day to sample, but other than that, I've got lots of machines to master first.

This was at last year's show, but it's just now being released. There's no bells or whistles, but I imagine they'll be cheap on the second-hand market. (BBD, 600ms, 3-way expression toggle, top-mounted jacks, $249 list)

Nevermind, I don’t know what I was thinking about the size/character limit. I just looked it up and can’t find anything. Either way, the 6/7 parameter limit usually feels like enough. I have some that have 3 parameters and still feel flexible

There's a severe lack of Rolf Harris in that video....

I think both the new Volcas look pretty great! I was surprised by the little modular one.

I like those knobs. Wonder if they'll reissue all their old plastic boxes
