that may be the first Strymon piece i'm actually interested in. i've not been crazy about the other attempts, e.g. the CBread or the Echorec setting on the TC Flashback.

I dunno... it might be rad but another delay pedal and "exciting" promises of live demo unveilings by the guitarist from the Killers = dramatically reduced interest on my end, haha. :idk:

I have no use for Swiss Things, but I thought last year was pretty good with Pyramids, Aqueduct, and Black Ash (I could've done without the limited hype). All 3 sound great imo.

The problem they are going to have is what to do now that they have 1 or more versions of just about every effect save for dedicated ring mod, loopers, and glitch type stuff.

Max SOS recording time is 64 seconds at half speed, 32 seconds at normal speed, and 16 seconds at double speed.

It's so sexy.

I do not need it.

I do want it.

I like the Boonar a lot. CB Echorec was nice for an ethereal wash, but not close at replicating the physical, vintage models I heard in side-by-side comparisons. The X4's two banks were poor---way too much modulation, like a runaway flanger or something. I do love the Alter Ego X4 overall, though, for its other modes. I consistently find it inspiring, regardless of how realistic its emulations are.

The Keeley Echoes was a limited run that did some wonderfully psychedelic multi-head patterns. It was basically their Gilmour pedal, but with the fuzz section removed (it had crazy, intentionally over-the-top modulated modes, too).

This new Volante, though, may be the best----definitely deeper than other people's attempts. The bonus reverb, note subdivision, and other features certainly give it a bit more range.

I just wish the universe would stop fucking with me via a new goddamn delay pedal every year or less.

So many nice textures in here, but the dying, dark decay around 7:00 is something else. Oh my black heart.

Fuck me that Strymon sounds so good. I told myself no more pedals for a while, but shit this might be an exception. My synth effect chain is Dimension C -> El Cap -> Deco -> DIG, but I could easily swap El Cap out for this considering it looks like an El Cap on steroids.

That price is nice too, tbh.

I’m so mad at how good that Strymon looks. I keep telling myself that an RE20 is all anyone needs for tape delays but it’s getting harder and harder...

I could sell my el cap and favorite switch and be pretty close to getting this. When does it come out?
