London people. Football tickets?

Postby aedes » Tue Oct 16, 2018 9:54 am

Hey london people.

My sister in law is going to England for 8 days or so around Christmas this year. Her husband was able to get free use of a place through his university. It's in Kensington.
She and her family of 5 kind of want to see a football match.

Any suggestions on getting tickets? It doesn't have to be EPL (they're not loaded or anything).

Obvious choice for Kensington would be looking in to Chelsea tickets, given the proximity, but they're difficult to get hold of as their stadium is small, so they tend to sell out and not go on general sale.

I'd recommend them looking at a Tottenham home game, as they're currently playing at Wembley whilst their own stadium is being built. They haven't sold out any games there, as it's much bigger than their home ground, so their tickets have been going on general sale.

A quick check says they're playing home games on the 15th, 26th and 29th December.

This link should be useful. Also gives a list of ticket sellers to avoid, which is cool:

Thanks for the info! She does like the spurs--that's a great idea. Forgot they were still at wembley this season.

I checked stubhub and ticket were really pricey for chelsea. Looks like fulham is pretty close too? Some of the championship teams seemed to have fairly reasonable tickets...might also be an option.

Yeah as a non-London English person I'd definitely recommend a championship team for price and availability. But I know very little about actual football teams.
