Straight up stopped going to hardcore shows because every time I did there was inevitably a pack of goons who were there to get into a fight. I got really tired of being surrounded by a bunch of shirtless assholes calling me "faggot."

Hardcore has always been a weird animal to me too.

In the 90's I found hilarious that so many hardcore kids were metalheads in denial who thought Slayer was shitty dad metal, but would hitchhike across the country to attend an All Out War show. I loved hardcore and still do, but couldn't stand most people I met at the shows. Nothing like a guy in a Barrit shirt telling you and your friends that "you fucking metalheads and your Crowbar shirts don't belong here."

I grew up on the hardcore a bit myself.. always really liked Vision Of Disorder and snapcase etc.. never liked the Brocore like Hatebreed..

Yeah modern hardcore shows are bananas. .. shirtless goons aplenty as described above..

Has to be yellow corn though, that white bullshit is so bland.
Plus who puts shrimp in oatmeal?
Well preparation matters. In East TN, I was raised on white grits with butter & sugar---aces. :!!!:

Then I moved to the Nashville area and people ate grits with hardly any salt and no sugar---disgusting. You also get overload---I once ordered grits in a restaurant and it was bombarded with salt and water---it was like the worst soup you could ever have.

I'm still confused by the popularity of yellow grits & shrimp---it's not that it's bad, but it's been repackaged as this hoity-toity, nouveau riche, faux Southern heritage dish. If you're not from a coastal fishing area, you likely grew up without it.

However, in 1982, when Bill Neal became a chef at Crook’s Corner, a restaurant in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, he forever changed the status of shrimp and grits.
Shrimp and grits was even announced as San Francisco’s “dish of the month” at the beginning of 2014 on Chowhound, asking readers to try as many version of the dish as possible in the Bay Area.
Give shrimp and grits back to the low-country people.

Polenta and shrimp? I’ve never seen that, and it certainly doesn’t seem like the most organic of marriages.

Yellow grits, butter, salt and pepper, sausage = hellyeah.

You gotta make em with less water than is called for. Soupy, snotty grits are second only to snotty oatmeal. Ugh.

I stopped caring about hardcore because I turned 20. Everyone grows out of it. There's about 5 bands I still love and listen to, and would see if possible. But everything new is so bad and regurgitated. Like how are bands STILL ripping off Biohazard?

All that being said, definitely going to see Lifetime and Cold World
