Crystal Healing

Post by LowWoods »

As some of you know, my day job of dressing movie sets isnt always glamorous. In fact, I spend 12 + hours a day moving 500 lb. desks up stairs, working in hazardous, toxic environments, dealing with stressed out co-workers, impossible deadlines, constant changes of plans while needing to maintain a positive attitude.

So... I got my first ever massage last weekend. Got a few knots worked out and some physical attention to my overworked back and shoulders. The place where I got the massage also has a store in it where they sell stuff like incense, gemstones, books, etc. I started looking at the all of the different beautiful gemstones and felt a very happy sensation within as I've always had an affinity for Earthly gifts.

I started reading a few things in the store, when it all "fell into place".

*BACKSTORY*
I was raised Catholic and was quick to denounce it because even as a small child, I felt the lack of spiritual energy and purity within the church. I've been religion-less since. However, my spirit continued to evolve until my conscious mind was able to piece some feelings and intuitions together. To me, it seems that life and the universe is a constant movement of energy, positive and negative. Which must mean that the essence of life is balance (so why get mad at stupid people, they will always exist, lol). A couple of years ago, I was able to vocalize these feelings. A guy I was working with in California had similar beliefs and translated them as metaphysics. Yay, somewhere to start ...
*END BACKSTORY*

Here's what I realized at the massage place. When the Earth's crust is under great stress and pressure, gemstones are created as compressed earthly energy. The colors of the gemstones emit a subtle vibration (so do you) that speaks to us (if you are able to accept) being that you are a child of the Earth.

"Gems act like a signal reciever, absorbing the colors and vibrations from the planets (transmitters). Like the crystals used in radio receivers to transfer invisible radio waves into sound, gems attract the cosmic energy waves and transform them for use by the human energy system (chakras) ."

I picked up a book at the place called "The Psychic Bible". Within, I was able to figure out how to direct my energy in a positive, beneficial way. There are exercises to "ground you" to mother earth, cleanse your aura and much more.

In one week I've been able to overcome withstand negative energies of my environment and even tackle my 10+ year marijuana addiction (yes, some people are addicted). I'm so happy to have someone on my side and its mother earth. She needs me as much as I need her and this bond will protect and nurture me!

I've been picking up some gems on ebay and enjoying this new ray of light in my life. Being these forums bring me joy and positive energy, I wanted to share with you!

Hopefully all the way to the drum circle in the sky *hippy dances*

Seems too many people have grown up too religiously.. But they turn out as good counterpoints to it and are often more openminded to new consciousness. I was in the seventh adventist church, hates it. Church for rich right-wing people who judge others to feel like better christians themselves.
There are also people who grew up in a combination of the two, the enlightened christian thing "citation needed" (lol). Names that come to mind includes our big love Jeff Mangum (neutral milk hotel, I shouldn't have to write) and Godfrey Reggio, the maker of the -qatsi series with music by Philip Glass. Go watch Koyaanisqatsi *nod*. I kind of wish I was in that group, christianity doesn't seem all that bad when it opens up that much creativity.

Hugs and rainbows on your newfound enlightenment.
If you manage to make a chakra lightning ball, plz photo for excited claps.

I was made to attend a SOUTHERN BAPTIST CHURCH (dun dun dunnn)
I still have no faith after that crap... But in all honesty, it wasn't the hypocrisy or the general sense of ignorance... (I was really young, I didn't even pick up on most of it at the time, save for the elitism of the more wealthy church-goers-- there were a lot of rich snobs there.) But I just saw through how absurd "religion" was...

Anyways, I'm glad you've "found a way" as they say! And I'm glad it's actually doing something for you, instead of being a damn front for some evil, indoctrinating cult. *cough*alltheisticreligion*cough*

Devi Ever's finger will never die... It's like a bad B-Movie...

Every time I try to get back into a normal schedule by staying all day and night, I just get too freaking tired and end up sleeping the whole day again! It sucks...

Agree, not to mention all the bad ideas you get and the paranoia. I remember one time when I was scared to fall asleep after a few days without it, whenever I started to close my eyes I went into a dreamworld where this thing was chomping down on my head.
You don't want head-chomping paranoia, Devi! As your doctor I advice you to drink a lot of wine and sleep like a princess for a few days.

That's funny, we just woke up at midnight trying to do the whole turnaround sleeping schedule. Decided to go for an evening stroll down an unfamiliar street which took us to the hospital. There standing by the entrance surrounded by a foreboding construction site was this creepy large statue of a missionary handing out bread, which really looked like a ghost or some cloaked death person. It was leaning forward too and wouldn't look you in the eye. Needless to say Devi and I, paranoid, walked home checking behind us all the way. Moral: lack of sleep schedule leads to paranoia.

But, I do have a story about crystals too. I got into the whole crystal healing magic stuff when I was 18. Once I had a pretty bad fever and had a pretty large quartz crystal with me. It was a cool night and I put the crystal on the window sill so that it was very cold. I then put it on my forehead and it absorbed some heat. I went back and forth between window sill and forehead. Let's just say it works a heck of a lot better than a damp rag. Nature rocks!!

I used to believe in things outside of myself, beyond what can be seen, felt, heard, tasted, smelled, but the custodians of these things turned out to be corrupt, selfish beings no better or wiser than me, and their words were tainted by their actions.

One might say that what someone says doesn't mean anything, that anyone can talk. However, when the basis of your faith is built upon this...

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God...and the Word was made flesh, and dwelt with men."

...you begin to wonder how anyone can be so cynical to speak and not believe, or to act in contradiction when so much authority has been given to them. You begin to suspect that they do not believe it themselves.

I used to believe that God spoke to certain people in dreams and visions. Then I learned that those people were deluded by mental illness, so I no longer believe those things.

Now I believe in what the day brings, and at the end of it, in what the day takes.

Higher planes of order, religious texts, meditation, ritual - all these things bring peace to people, and for that reason that are good, but for me, they are what they are, and bring me nothing.
