The whole point of owning a $2,000 synth is to channel the grand underground cathedrals of Mars. You can't do that without some life-reaffirming verb.aen wrote:Would it kill a man to turn off the cheese ball reverb on a synth?

And a pitch pedal it is. Neat.

That prologue is extremely disappointing. It doesn’t expand on the minilogue at all. It sounds a little nicer but it removes features the minilogue had, adds some better fx and voices, and doesn’t fix the problems present in the design.

Yeah for as much as the prologue was hyped it doesn't sound that great and at $2000USD I feel there are better options.

Honestly, buying two minilogues is a better option. The DSI Rev2 is an infinitely better option for the same price.infamousalien wrote:Yeah for as much as the prologue was hyped it doesn't sound that great and at $2000USD I feel there are better options.

I'm calling it: he did not make enough of these.

At first I thought the same, but just now I read that this synth is completely Made in Japan. Was this mentioned before?infamousalien wrote:Yeah for as much as the prologue was hyped it doesn't sound that great and at $2000USD I feel there are better options.
I just see that the new stage piano D1 is also made in Japan. Hey, I gotta check this out. I have the Italian made SP-200, but I might consider an upgrade if the D1 turns out to be great for my needs.

Re: Winter NAMM / 2018 notes
I noticed it this morning, because some of the demo keyboards still had a MIJ sticker on them. That certainly explains some of the price, because labor in Japan certainly costs more than Vietnam/Korea/China, but head-to-head it still seems to fall a bit short feature-wise.Pepe wrote:At first I thought the same, but just now I read that this synth is completely Made in Japan. Joel posted his 'Gram clip to the Tube.

I continue to like what I'm hearing (it's no Prophet), but if this was $1K - $1.2K, it'd be so much more appealing (duh). Does anyone else feel the panel looks kind of naked? On so many synths now, you see 40-50 pots on the surface, but the Prologue is so lifeless and barren on the far-right (pun-intended?).

Anyone got this yet? I think I'm ready. For $59, I'm not going to wait on a BOSS.
