I can see myself running this with a more abstract Eurorack set up.

Oh wow, the Miniature 2s looks even better than the Miniature 2. Very interesting direction, although I'm a little disappointed they still haven't developed a polybrute

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
ugh. JUST had a talk with my landlord, and apparently he's decided to sell the house i have rented from him for like.... a decade. so bummed out. there's a chance we might try to buy it, i'm sick as balls today so next day i have off we're looking at options.
it sucks hard because we pay about half of what the rent should be worth, i'm about 32 steps away from work, i HATE moving. my grrL doesn't like that we live on a hill, she misses being able to bike anywhere. so we're most likely going to look for something a bit flatter but still near my job.
annnnnnd i was looking forward to the GR-1, but i need to dump every available dollar into Moving/I Don't Know What We're Doing fund, so going to email them and cancel my preorder.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
That Andrew Huang video is definitely giving me gas!
Also, it made me realise that if I got the Minibrute 2s, I'd want to keep my Drumbrute because of aesthetics.
Oh well, that doesn't work with my plan. I'm still aiming to just flip my Drumbrute for a Digitakt (this is getting off modular topic again...)

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
I just splurged and ordered Prettylilpanel's commissions for my Chonoblob, O_C, and Rings (https://www.instagram.com/prettylilpanels/)
It's going to take a month or two, but they're going to look amazing!
Soooo anyone want to buy a black Magpie panel for Chonoblob, O_C, or Rings in about a month or two?

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
So I looked at the RackBrute.
Aside from the 5hp Power module (ugh) I do have some other reservations about this system. The power strip seems super high up on the 6U case, which would make connecting modules on the lower rack rather difficult.
I quite like the folding aspect, and the ability to have a "modular" case for my modular synth, but I'm a lil skeptical right now.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
I think it's pretty cool you can switch it up between two 6U cases or a Minibrute + 3U, or whatever. If they start releasing more stuff that can link with it I like the customization opportunity for situations as they arise.
This is insanely nit-picky, but I think the connectors themselves look like ass. So big and obtrusive looking. Wah wah.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
Yeah the only thing that I really like about that is the "link system". It would be really cool to have one of the Minibrutes linked to a 3U or 6U processing rack. But other than that, there doesn't look to be anything special or innovative going on with the Rackbrute and I'd rather just stick with the cases I already have

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
So yeah, uggh. This doesn't make my plan to avoid modular any easier.
I think the RackBrutes make a lot of sense if you're starting with an MB2 and you want to expand down the road, maybe not so much if you have a full fledged system as it is. The link thing could be nice for some DIY stuff as well.
