It doesn't have what you might want to hear, or any of the criteria of a legit demo. It's a straight noodle sesh and nothing more. Some parts are too long, and you will not get your 90 minutes back, but hey, it's 90 minutes of E352. Plenty of compelling moments throughout. Also has heavy Trshmstr and DPLR use for the analog krispy-creme.

I had a quick wiggle and it's really awesome so far. I'll have to put in some time to figure out all the modes and controls, but it sounds great and it was really easy to find some great settings.

Maaaan I passed up a delicious offer on a Rene for $350 last month bc I was B R O K E & now that I have money for one I can't rationalize copping one from all these folks asking $410+. I'm surprising myself with my ability to patiently wait while I have $500 in my PayPal account, but I'd much rather get a good deal on a Rene than continue exercising my patience. Maybe this is a sign I should Plonk now instead? Is anyone on the fence about their's, or does everyone love it?

I was actually playing with a simple patch yesterday that could be done quite similarly with that system, basically mikrophonie through Rings then fed through a granular delay modulated by something else. Playing that with the quNexus and various physical objects.[

How do you mix things in there though ?

Yeah I had a very similar patch going, but using an SQ1 instead of the QuNexus. I want to swap the Disting out for something a little more useful, but I'm not exactly sure what yet. Maybe some utilities like the Mutable Kinks...

And mixing is all external using the Koma Field Kit, which also gives me more modulation and sound sources.

Found one minor annoyance with the Alter; I keep inadvertently switching the mode when I change the input level. I'm going to have to get taller knobs for those pots

In 4HP you could get some mixing and potential overdrive with a Manhattan Analog CP3/DTM. I really like mine, super useful and lovely overdrive.

Is there a cheaper alternative to the DPO? I want to start a system to compliment my Microbrute and that looks like a great first step, but I can’t really justify spending that much+accounting for attenuation and matching levels and such.

I use a Microbrute with a Maximal Drone in the input right now and I’d like more control over modulation and the ability to play duophonically.

Yeah, there are many options but it all depends on what you want to do with it...
And what do you like in the DPO, the internal modulation system, the waveshaper, the raw oscillators sound, anything else ?

If you have a microbrute and want something to add to it, a 0-coast could be a less expensive/more efficient solution, staying in the Makenoise family. You could control it from the microbrute I think and it's either a full voice or a good way to process/expand/add to the brute.

Pretty sure they'll make a stupid amount of money off this either way. I've been regretting selling my Mother 32 lately. Might almost be time to get a new one along with one of these.

Ugh it looked so much better in silver! If I didn't rediscover my love for the Analog Rytm, I'd probably be all over this, but I don't think I need one of those right now.


Side note, I forgot to post this here! I downsized my rack to fit in the 270 Pittsburgh case + the Make Noise skiff and I'm loving it. I think there were "too many options" for patching with 3 concurrent racks and I was falling into the same patching pitfalls.

This video features the Instruo Harmonaig (highly recommended for anyone looking for chords, although they have a new chord/sequencer thing in the pipeline too) and a few XAOC Devices: (quick reviews as I just got them in)

Tallin has some great overdrive tones and is a surprisingly valuable VCA in such a small footprint.

Tirana II makes me want to have more Tirana's to hook up with. It's so immediate and the shortcuts make sense.

Praga is a nice mixer but it's a little too easy to start distorting everything if signals are hot (I think I need to use it in bipolar mode) but the AUX send feature + the ability to pan in the stereo image is insane for the HP.

DREZNO & LIPSK subsystem is tricky. I'm using it in this video for bitcrushing and distortion but it's capable of a lot more. Still trying to uncover its secrets but it's a very intriguing set of modules - perhaps the most intriguing modules I've used since I got Ansible.

Kamieniec is just a cool phaser. The built in LFO is a nice touch.

Oh yeah, in this batch I also got the Make Noise Contour to give me envelopes without needing the size constraints of Maths and it gets the job done nicely! I really liked the onset/etc. controls on the 0-coast and they work well here.

I'll have to check out that video when I get home from work because I am very interested in all of those Xaoc modules. I've got and completely love the Batumi and Samara and Tirana and Tallin are in my immediate plan. Praga and Drezno/Lipsk are in my extended plan if I ever get there
