I don't think the first point is indicative of 'hipsters'. Maybe it's my own prejudices but, I generally find those who want 'funding' without contributing anything to be 'insufferable'.
You should start a Kickstarter...crowd funding for no reason is a great place to start

How far are you taking this bit? I would not advise anything that would affect your car insurance rates or any ticketing (otherwise driving habits would be too easy).
