I contacted them on Reverb a few days ago asking when it would ship, and as expected, they ignored my email.

Don't kid yourself, they may have very likely skipped town with the money. I hope that is not true.

Up until recently, there was an expected ship date listed underneath the product of something like 1/8/2018. Now, that date has been removed, and there is no updated date or updated comments about what is going on. Below is the last comment update from 11/8/2017 in which they stated they would provide another update in about a week from then. Here we are 2 months later, with no update.

UPDATE 11/8
Hello everyone! I am very excited to be moving forward on the AD4096 MKII. I having been working on the features new to this version. I will post a full report on that as soon as those are done. Look for that update in about a week. Things are moving fast now and I am still projecting to get this into production as soon as possible after Spectravibe, which begins production this weekend. I am updating the estimated ship date on these a little further out than I think we can do and of course I will get these out sooner if possible. The way things are going with this, there is a good chance it will be sooner.

They have been doing this for like 2-3 years with these though, and the Spectravibe actually turned out to not be vaporware. I remember dude posted on here like 8 months ago about how they had just started breadboarding the Spectravibe which was like 1.5 years since it opened for pre-order or something insane like that. They look dope as hell tho. I think it might be one guy working on them now or something, I believe they were a pedal company that was run by some guitar shop in Asheville, then that store went out of business or something so the pedal guys worked on it independently and then guys dropped out of that so it was down to one guy. Or something. Or something.

I'm not sure pre-orders should ever be before breadboarding, even if you aren't off by one and a half years.

We're talking about the company that had a website that didn't really work for a solid 5 years, right? :snax:

Piggy backing off the riffing...the only reason I'm re-posting this is because it's one of my favorite posts on ILF.

It will definitely hold a place sonically, but we personally think the old Gristleizer VCF circuit that went into that version is shite, and the new one in Spectravibe sounds a lot better. And yeah, there have been lots of delays, but it's two steps backwards, three steps forwards. If we had gotten it out on time, it wouldn't be as cool as it is now. I think people will agree it's going to be the best most versatile AND affordable analog modulation pedal on the market. We really should be charging like $350-$400 for all the engineering that went into this, but especially since we don't do dealers anymore, we can keep our prices down.

Honestly, every time these guys make a post, it further deters me from buying any of their products. "Yeah, we're working really hard and we should be charing a whole lot more for R&D. You're welcome it's not $500" ... "You're getting a super deal on this discount, but we're going to give everyone the same discount in a month, anyway." ... ""The last batch of stuff we put out we admittedly thought sucked, but charged around the same price that this batch will be. This batch is awesome." :idk: Maybe I'm too jaded?

Edit: It also seems like the only time I see them post is when I'm a few drinks in, so maybe it's a Me Problem.

Edit Edit: You know what, man - you do you. *I'm* probably the asshole in this scenario.

Yeah whoever does their marketing has zero to no people skills. Luckily for them they make great stuff so they can kinda get away with being douchebags because there are limited alternatives to their pedals in terms of similarities. It's like I tell my dog all the time when he's being a dick...."you're lucky you're cute". He knows he can get away with stuff by flashing his sad brown puppy dog eyes. I think it is a similar situation here.

These guys communicate like dicktarts, I told the "marketing" guy this before, with their stupid rubbish sale prices of 20 bucks off or something and their wining it should be more expensive.
So they didn't even pull through in delivering any of their so called A-Mazing products? Well, ghee, who ever would have thought of that?
Good luck with it, I'm glad I decided never to buy from them due to their incapacity to communicate properly, hope you get your money back.

Not trying to rationalize what these guys do but Handsome Nora put it in perspective for me with a single post. If I can find it I will repost here but it was to the tune of "we're all different...some people can engineer some cool shit...were told they could sell said 'cool shit'...didn't account for everything else that comes along with being a company"

this?
It is important to remember that most small pedal builders are probably just nerds with electronics skills who enjoy making shit. Then, they discovered that they could make some cash building pedals so they started a pedal "company". As is usually the case with nerds, they have no people skills. On top of that, these new entrepreneurs have no business training to run their business properly. As a result, this shit happens.

100% it.
The only addendum I have is, like Rock Stars or Athletes, a sort of ego "can" eventually build per people saying 'their shit is awesome' 'the best' etc. so a builder may think they have a monopoly of customers...problem with that is...this is the world of pedals...not pacemakers and other medical equipment...ergo there is plenty of cool shit to choose from.

Hey, I'm a few drinks in tonight and fuck these guys still.

Edit: I haven't seen them post, though, but I'm sure they'll be on in no time to charge $25 for a knob they got from some super specialized bunsen burner manufacturer.

Edit Edit: I still wouldn't mind an AD4096 because I'm a sucker.
