Re: The App Thread!
Bumping for knowledge!
I need an app for iRerror live stuff. We have a fair amount of back and forth between drum machines and #ambientnotes on the latest album, and it's a pain in the ass to jump back in after long drumless parts. At some point you just lose track of the beat without any cues. So I've chopped up all the drum tracks and I'm now manually triggering them as we progress through the songs. Right now we're just relying on me managing to select the right track and hit a tiny play button in iTunes or whatever, all the while playing bass with my other hand and keeping track of my pedlols. It's really difficult to pull off to any satisfactory degree when I have to do it multiple times during a song. I'm looking for a big-buttoned "one click to play sample to the end" solution, and I need at least four sample bank pads for different parts of the songs. A very basic SP-202/404 in app form, I guess. Any suggestions?

Re: The App Thread!
I thought you had beatmaker? I think it might do what you want (and much more)
Or if you have any other playerthing that is MIDI controllable you could use Touchable as customisable performance surface
edit:
BM: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/beatmak ... 17024?mt=8
holy shit, BM3 is 39.99$ but kinda likely well worth thazt money,
BM2 still available is a steal at 9,99
nanostudio is cheaper still: https://itunes.apple.com/de/app/nanostu ... 63651?mt=8
iMaschine & Gadget could also work, I'm thinking basically anything that features a pseudo MPC
and doesn't limit sample size/length
Touchable:
https://itunes.apple.com/de/app/touchab ... 49475?mt=8
dang, also getting expensive
and don't remember it sounding so Live exclusive...
thought it did anything via MIDI? Still might...
or the lemur app...

Beatmaker 3 is unimpeachable. Completely changed my iOS game. Once they re-add transient chopping I'll never let it go.
You can also expert as an ableton live set, so you can always refine ideas on the puter.

Re: The App Thread!
Thank yooooou! I'll check them out!
I already have my OP-1 plugged into the iPad, so I'd rather not get more MIDI stuff because that means I'd need a splitter/hub and I'm all about keeping my rig as small as possible atm.

Re: The App Thread!
Question: can my samples in Beatmaker be as long as I like? Because some drum sections are a few minutes long. Recreating the drum tracks in the software is a no go as they have a lot of elaborate effects added and jumping in and out of them already.

It's meant to be an MPC style daw, so yeah. I load field recordings into it all the time.UglyCasanova wrote:Question: can my samples in Beatmaker be as long as I like? Sweet! Thanks! Better to make sure than to pay 40 bucks and it be not very useful. All the videos I saw just did short drum samples.

Re: The App Thread!
My bandmate turned me onto Funkbox. It's a pretty cool super easy drum machine with classic sounds.
Good deals: OsbornKT, Phantasmagorovich, UglyCasanova, DarkAxel, Skip, D.o.S, ColdBrightSunlight, Eivind August, Goroth
