Gift ideas for a six year old boy.

Post by ummohyeah »

I can't think of anything he needs. Got action figures, gaming system, Legos, clothes, books, etc. covered. Anything cool out there I might not know about?

Suggestions? Go.

Also, please keep it respectful...

I bought my son a 20$ drone. It's a little advanced but he's pretty good at taking it off and landing it.

If you have the relationship, I like to get my nephew movie tickets, then I take them. Or my wife and I really... i also like to get them sort of single use things, like those blow up bubble balls, that are totally fun to play with for a day until they pop. My nephews don’t need anything so that sort of stuff is a fun change to the video games and power rangers.

The drone might not be a bad idea. I really want to get that AI dog that's out there, but I think for its price it would be under-used.

It's my son BTW :) Tickets and stuff are a good idea... I should make a calendar and give him several activities (VR outing, go karts, etc) and have him put them on days he wants go.

Hmm.

My son is 7 years old and we had NO idea what to give to him for Christmas. He had his birthday in October and he did NOT really enjoy the visit to Sea Life that we did on that day (his siblings liked it a lot, though). He is very special and his interests are very limited. He loves drawing and handcraft in every way.

So this Christmas we try it with a big Spirograph set. The current sets offer a lot of variations (that I had loved in the '80s) and you don't have to use those annoying pins anymore that never keep in place. I know, this is a 50-year-old thing, but my kids had tons of fun with the online free version "Inspirograph" two years ago. Maybe your son also loves to get creative?

Here's the set that we have bought: Super Spirograph

Casio Keyboard with light up keys. We started getting the kid small musical instruments when she was around 4. She digs the keyboards.

But they sound so awful ... Generally I don't like Yamaha, but their cheap keyboards are still lightyears ahead of the sound of the Casio equivalents. :erm:

Got some cool silly putty at one of my kids' birthday parties. Kinda a "cool thing to play around with on christmas morning and then forget about but then maybe bust out again later" kinda toy.

We're big on marbles too. Like, there are a zillion different colors and then you can buy some marble run components or make your own.

This is a very impressive collection of Roto Toms. That's 21 Roto Toms in all. That is only $33.00 a Roto Tom.

Books my man. Cannot ever have too many.

Reading to your child is so rewarding, and I need to do it more. So, maybe some killer books would be a good start. Try starting him out on some light chapter books to get his little brain going. It's hard with kids that young, but you can engage them if you use funny voices or get into the reading.

I read my daughter the Wizard of Oz (the original version) when she was 6 or 7 and she still remembers it.

My littlest, who is 5, loves books.

I'm a reader, so I'm going to say do that. :)

I know I lobbied already for the drone, but I will also say it's been fun learning to fly it with my son. I bought my own, it does flips and shit. He loves it.

Switchblade. Functional. Fun. Makes a cool noise. Doesn't need batteries.
