So apparently I'm going to have a cheapo BC Rich soon...

Post by rfurtkamp »

A friend's twenty-something son was flipping his guitar to pay for books for college, which makes me sad but I gave him the "you can buy it back for a substantial percentage less than I'm paying you for it" deal should he decide later it's missed.

Do I really need a Son of a Beast with red inlays and a Coffin case?

No, I don't.

But....what the hell. We'll see how bad it is in a couple days.

Well, we shall see how much I *need* it, but...I'm ready to metal.

Between the V, that, and the LP, I suspect I have all the metals covered.

The two reasons I don't own a BC Rich is I'm not metal enough to get away with them and I don't have the room.

I don't worry about it at this point.

I started on a USA Hamer Standard from the golden years with pinstriping.

After that, my sense of shame has been...nil.

I might be tempted if I didn't have this one coming.

I didn't really go looking for a BC Rich, this is mostly to help out a good kid.

If he buys it back, and I like it, I'll certainly consider purple ones!

Not sure that purple one is even real. It looks like an illustration.

My first good guitar was a BC Rich ST-III NJ Series. I kinda wanna get another BC Rich just for nostalgia. :idk:

I feel you there, I've almost bought a Hamer Standard a few times, even if I'm not going to shell out for the golden years early one I had.

Old Hamers are nice.

I never liked the paint on the ST-III neck though. So, if I ever end up with another BC Rich, it won't have paint on the neck.

That much is true.

I'm in the "if I don't like it, I send it back" but I buy new or a known quantity the vast majority of the time now.

I won't ever deal with a vintage Fender neck that gets so sticky after a set that I kept a rag on top of the Space Echo to wipe it down.

Arrived today due to life issues getting in the way.

Changed strings and it's better than I figured it'd be. Little bit of fret sprout, but plays well enough.

It does the metal thing and not much else, but...well...I didn't think I'd be playing Les Paul on it!
