EHX is definitely a little too late to the party with this one. But still cool to have an actual reissue of a green Muff.

I already bought a Russian Pickle months ago, and it's the tits. Will be interested to hear some comparison videos of the two, though.

not only are they late to the party, but so many people have pedals that started as a big muff and they have built it from there giving it much more functionality tonally. it just doesn't make sense imho, but i'm a bit obsessed.

EHX are really blowing it with how they released this pedal. They make high quality demo videos and are pretty on top of their social media presence, they have a lot of dealers who are even better at both. I saw no hype rolling up to this, just a few quick articles with no demo clips or videos and the only samples I've seen/heard of this pedal are mostly low quality amateur phone videos from people who already bought one. They couldn't release some ahead of time to ProGuitarShop, Reverb.com, Chicago Music Exchange, Prymaxe and a few choice Youtube demo people and coordinate some advance promotion to coincide with their pre-order or release? The EHX promotion machine rolls full steam ahead on all their hastily released clones of other maker's pedals, but they flop on re-releasing one of their most revered vintage creations? If this was a movie or album, everyone would assume it's going to be a flop. Hopefully that's not correct, but does anyone else observe how out of whack this is??

makes it seem like they're talking about a single pedal. Probably just legalese though.

i had to look up what the eye see pi looked like, because the letter mentions the visual design, which is probably the reason for the letter honestly. yeah it's only in black and white, but the design and lettering is obviously the issue. wren and cuff stepped over the line there, i don't think ehx could sue wren and cuff directly though, just threaten the shops who carry them.

But that particular w&c pedal is not as close to the ehx design as the Tym ones, and all they were told is to drop the extra d on big mudd.

The courts might not be super convinced because of this so whether or not they'd win is another story. Sadly Wren & Cuff would never make it to trial cause they don't have the money to stand up to EHX.

yh i get that but it's the inconsistency I don't get. Why single out w&c when there are others copying the artwork in much the same way. I guess what they're doing is putting pressure on dealers to pick a side, which would suck for a lot small builders, but then I would think that a lot of them sell more units directly than through dealers.

Some dickhead lawyer (or MM himself ) probably caught a video of the pedal on PGS or something and decided to ruin someone's day.

Geez, the pedal kicks ass and this is all you harp on? Somehow I think EH is going to do just fine just with the word of mouth about this pedal alone. People are going crazy for it because it is a boutique killer. Could they have done a video or two? Sure. But is it worth worrying about? No.

I've never seen so many user demos come out so fast on a pedal in decades, so I don't think EH flopped on anything. This l'il bastard is a TFR killer and although I respect Wren and Cuff, I am glad that finally a mass produced pedal is making the boutique guys nervous. Keep it up EH!!

Did you read the part where I said I've only heard bad quality cell phone videos of it?? I have no clue how it sounds, other than vaguely "Big Muff"-ish, which is a given. You'd think EHX could manage producing a demo video or clip prior to putting it up for sale. I didn't say anything about Wren & Cuff or anyone else. Must you climb up on your soap box regardless of the content of the post you're replying to? I LIKE EHX pedals, I expect more of them, because I know they're thoroughly professional and capable of it. Why are you picking up your fights with other posters with me, when I haven't expressed a single attitude you're railing against?
