I agree. But, maybe they're like crayons, or oil pastels? With those mediums you can mix colors but you are still more limited than oil paints. Pedals could be acrylic? I'm not being coy because my next point from this analogy is modular is like grinding your own pigment and making your canvas.

Or, whereas working with pedals is painting, modular is sculpture (a lot of people that create modules and work in that realm liken their work to sound sculpture, like Rob Hordijk).

Next Pedal = "Reverb Trail Degradation Into Regeneration: A Metaphysical Inquiry Into Reverb" It's a Reverb where the trails degrade and then per 'sound symmetry' rebuild and you end with the sound you started with. The pedal questions "what is reverb?" and "how do you know 'you're' not the trail".

With decay in mind:
Someone pointed to the fact that it would be nice to have this board last a while, as a record of thoughts, opinions, sounds, and c. I like that perspective, I also like thinking about bands/orchestras/etc that played music before recording tech existed. For the simple joy of playing. Sounds never to be heard ever again.

Somewhat related: Is it possible to create a thread that pulls posts and degrades the content ala a delay? A self-generating thread that then morphs input into new content? Would have to be a way to clearly ID the text as from a script and many other logistical challenges, but just wondering. About decay.
