Actually, the bags Chase Bliss includes with their pedals are identical to the bags Chessex sells as dice bags. I don't know if Joel buys them from Chessex or some local game store, or if he and Chessex source them from the same manufacturer, but it's definitely the same thing.

I bought an expensive tote bag from Red Witch and it came with a very nice pedal in it. I thought that was a nice little touch.

I can honestly say that with anything I've owned which came with them (cell phones, headphones, etc.), I've never made any use of the bags and they usually just end up in a box or lost in a move.

Those bags are super useful for preventing scratches and keeping it dust in studios. Increasing the longevity of a product. We keep every mic in a case or bag. Dust covers for everything we can.

This is, actually, a decent argument for them, though.

Really, though, the whole thing about the fancy boxes and dice bags and stickers is just to increase the perceived value of the product.

I've seen guitarists bring pedals to gigs wrapped in T-shirts, and in another case, wrapped in socks. I think the commemorative bag is considered a step up.
