I just got a laptop! ...now what?

Post by neonblack »

I haven't had a computer of my own in a few years. It's not high end or anything. HP Laptop from the pawn shop. But what do i do with it besides ILF? I'm so used to doing everything on my phone. I just sat and stared at the Unread Posts screen for like 5 minutes. I see avatars. People quoted me? What is this terrifying new world?

But for real, give me some good games to play on the cheap. I do eventually want to get some kind of audio interface but that's not super important right away.

I have to buy a mouse tomorrow so I can play Minecraft. And whatever else you guys recommend.

PORN!

Seriously, audio interface, protools(cubase, fruity loops, ect...), make tracks, play over them, improve, experiment.... also agar.io is an amazing addictive free time suck.

Emulators. That's 90% of the reason why I have a computer. Go get some nes/gb/gba/snes/n64/atari/sega emulators and get lost in nostalgia.

There are tons of great games that will run on anything these days. Was playing Hyper Light Drifter earlier and it's pretty cool.

Otherwise you can use it to find cool pictures of dogs doing things that dogs shouldn't really be doing and download a copious amount of music and films that you can tell yourself you'll digest as you rewatch the same films and relisten to same albums year after year.

All I've been doing with my laptop lately is watch the rick and morty marathon and play starcraft (blizzard recently released for free). Oh and reddit and facebook.

Daemon tools should work for emulating a drive to the directory where you copied the disk. I've used it many times and it's always worked well. If that still gives you issues, you can edit your registry to look to a folder when looking for the disk.
