Yeah I did. Have some more junk to put in there, but wanted to start small. If things get too chewed up, I can cut new lengths. All I had to buy was the $8 carrying handle on top...cases are crazy expensive.

i would lurv to have some woodworking skeelz. i have.... like.... negative though?

annnnnnd i kinda. hate. the Freez. i dunno if i want any 2hp modules now. cool idea, but MAN that is small as hell. mebbe something like a Switch? that one would set and forget for a patch? but something interactive like a punch in and out stutter? oof. SO hard to use. tiiiiiiiinyyyyyy.

...... and i don't really like the way it's implemented. gonna spend a bunch of time with the Kammerl (sp?) beat repeat Clouds dinger. think that's more up my windmill alley.

What's wrong with the Freez? I'm curious about it. I get the size thing, but I plan to run it remotely from triggers, and wouldn't have my hands on it a lot. Is there something else?

i don't like the pitch shifting when changing repeat size, the sample rate lowers the entire audio signal not just when it's engaged, the controls are super finicky to dial in.

not a bad module, just not the way i want to use the effect. the beat repeat on the Clouds is tempo locked too, which i LOVE.

thanks Ruiney! NOISES. MELLOW NOISES.

Yes. For me, what makes it so much better is that you don't have to rearrange everything so often. You just get an idea and do it up, no extra messing around moving shit. I think it also turns out better because making noises is one of the main reasons to build a modular, and many module purchases are expressly for that, whereas with pedals, they're usually bought (and made) for use with guitar & bass first, and for noising out second. There's a more direct intent for noise in modular, I think.

I noticed in the freez video that it looked too small and fussy to use in a hands-on/playing kind of way. If that is the kind of play you want for that effect, we're gonna have to talk about the Scooper. It is by far the most hands on version of chop&rearrange/stutter in modular. It's also a lot of fun outside the rack in the optional and excellent tabletop mode. It chops up the waveforms at the start of big peaks like drums when it can, so it stays on tempo pretty good. Plus you get all the customizing powers from the app, which I think you would like a lot, because PRESETS. And extra filter chaining. This is the surest and quickest way to recreate voices and other elements of a patch.

interesssssting.

yeah. i'd like to try one but man.... why twenty ONE hp? killing me. 20 i could finagle, at least to run it for a while see how i dig it. if i had to go Rack External, i have a KP3 i adore i'd probably use instead.

but thanks for the recommendation! WILL RESEARCH.

Hmm, well it is definitely different than the KP grainshifting stuff. Grabs bigger samples, up to 10 seconds in mono, and has bitcrushing and distortion on a few of the scatter algos. The pitch shifting is very high quality and CVable. There are both types of pitch shifting in the collection of algos (timestretching and non/realtime), and if you turn the scatter depth all the way down, you can use just the pitch shifting and filter on the loops. I have a ton of odd HP modules now, so that's nothing to be concerned about for me. Picos are just doable at 3 HP, and cover enough functions that anyone can find use for a few. I'm also still thinking about Dreadbox Drips, which is styled like the Rolands, and probably particularly awesome with the Scooper.

yur. watched some demos, and WANT. sounds way better than the similar type they put in the green 303 redo (forget the model. T303? i like that little box.).

but i have the 6u porta rack i'm working on laid out, just more modules to grab -

https://www.modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/473472

stil have some coming in, need to play a lot to make sure i like this setup, but if i wanted to swap say the LPG and Warps, i'm ONE hp shy of making it fit.

that's.... why i hate odd hp modules.

but the 4 Vox is worth it. because DAYUM.

The Noise Reap ISD Sampler looks soooo tight.

Is there a module that does wave sequencing (not wavetable)? Like a voltage controlled KORG Wavestation? That would be cool.
"SWIPE LEFT ASSHOLE!" -retinal orbita
"Whatever ASSHOLE here’s my pedal that makes humpback whale noises and also it has a built in sequencer so stick it in your craw! -retinal orbita
"Patty Mullen takes me from a ball peen to a sledge" -The Great Velvet Hammer
"...at this exact moment Divine has learned of your jealous scheme from the local town gossip. She also has your address, ASS HOLE!" -Narrator (Mr. J) PINK FLAMINGOS

running BIA clean for the last plinky tones, then into Warps as well for the sustained feedback woopleness.

That's awesome. Is that a parasites trick? I love all the stuff you can do with Warps' oscillator already.

Started rearranging today, just pulled everything from both racks. No modulargridding, just redoing them by hand.
