Not that I bought one, but they're supposed to ship next month and the company's been pretty quiet about it since NAMM.
Hopefully it doesn't end up being another vaporware situation.
A friend of mine got on the preorder ... he doesn't see to be worried at all, rather excited, so ... :idk:

Here's what I find hilarious. People are fucking OBSESSED with opening their pedals and 90% of them couldn't solder to save their life or tell you a single component in there. Now a lot of folks can, but it's become ridiculous to the point of pure stupidity. OMG there's a fucking wire that looks less than pretty or some other asinine shit that doesn't matter.
What's happening here, I completely agree with Jwar... :animal:

Obviously not new pedals, but Boneshakers are $50 again for Americans, you lucky people.

Not to stir the pot, but it has been my understanding that tone mojo flows most freely through through hole components. The SMD components "constipate" the tone by forcing into physically smaller channels thereby sucking the mojo as a vampire sucks blood! This is why vintage gear is so coveted. The through hole components, enhanced by age, dust, and "micro corrosion," having gotten used to working tone mojo over the years, are objectively "more" than today's current productions. To put a slight wrench in my argument, the vintage through hole gear sounds objectively "more" than both today's through hole and SMD products. Of course, one could purposefully "relic" a modern through hole device by leaving it in a dusty place and speeding along the "miniature corrosion" using solvents. One could not relic SMDs in this way. If you want to "relic" a SMD you have to program it into a computer and get the temperature of your hot air gun transferred over to Kelvin. Who has time for that bullshit? I need tone mojo on tap at all times and don't say I can't tell the difference because that's subjective and in the land of subjectivity nothing is true and everything is permitted.

Sorry for all the posts today, I have fuck all to do at work.

You know, that would funny, boy, if anyone had claimed that through hole was better than SMD, but no one has. The reason SMD was brought up, was because I asked jwar, whether he was impressed by the size of the Roland SE 02. I then proceeded to argue, that to impressed by the size, meant you'd have to be impressed by the technology SMD, as SMD is what allows the unit to be the size that it is. This, of course, spiraled into a bunch of dudes jumping to chime in on whatever and back each other up, with the only person with actual first hand experience on the whole smd vs through hole thing, acknowledging that there is a possibility of a difference. And now you, trying to score more popularity points with your out of context effort post.

The urban youth of London would call this a "par".

This so much.
Shit's definitely gotten even more prevalent since Gutshotculture.
I mean, if you know what you're talking about, it makes sense to have a certain opinion about how the guts look, but half the time people are just talking out of their ass.
The funny thing about the gutshot culture is that people are jizzing over stuff without knowing what they are looking at. I can solder well enough and I can repair my own pedals, but I wouldn't know a good layout if I saw it, because I know jack shit about pcb design. I wouldn't know whether a design is shitty because there are two wasted halves of two quadamps that could have been simplified if the circuit was designed by someone who knew anything. At it's very height most people could perhaps say that the like the way the caps are arranged... which even for something as silly as boutique pedals... is pretty silly.

I'm afraid to get into SMD. I can barely hold my hands still enough to solder through hole stuff.

I honestly think it's to scrutinize a builder or builders because they don't think things are as pretty as they ought to be. Which is just stupid. I've seen a lot of builders take so much of this shit to heart that they board mount almost everything to avoid the insult. Which is fucking stupid. I mean, I get it, some guys put rats nests in there, that's kind of stupid. At the same time though, why you opening the shit up if it fucking works? I never do that. I ONLY open it if something isn't functioning. In those cases though, it has nothing to do with the gut layout. It's usually a failed stomp switch or something else stupid. People are just weird man.

...it's pretty, and gets me hot with envy...plus opening up a pedal clone and seeing a hand broken board..like snapped all fudged.. wrapped in electrical tape held down by double sided tape with hookup wire going to the in and out/stomp switch, with no room for lag aND impossible to place battery anywhere for there's no holder, is like meeting your favorite actor or musician and being totally bummed....Fantasy/expectations to collecting, noting and doing...maybe you'll find a suprise like the magpie talked about....
