jia. i was super interested ina vcNoiz, then was SO moist at the demo for it. i got like...... 6 minutes to play with it. had plans to watch a moobie with friends tonight, and wanted to hang out with The GrrL for a bit before i bounced. but tomorrow is No Working/Messy Noise Times.

woot! the drum module i ordered from the Chinas should be here tomorrow. why can i get something here from China in 6 days, and handed off to UPS before it hits me, but if i order something delivered domestically through UPS it takes 8 or 9 days?

ASSES.

Threw this together real quick at lunch (about 45 minutes).

One track eurorack and one track guitar. Just a quick lunchtime recording. Patch made on the spot with Matter, Braids; Clouds, Erbeverb, Rainmaker with Euclidean Circles, Pam's New Workout and Varigate 8+ doing the sequencing. Then a guitar track with Moomindrone T and CT5.

edit: thanks for the embedding fix Behndy!

also, that is PRETTY. what's doing the bass noises?

also also, looks like i'm going to have 11 modules in the Make Noise skiff, which only has 10 power outputs. i was asking on Muffs about finding a 3'ish connector flying bus cable, smallest i can find is the Tip TOp Audio one at 5, someone suggested cutting it to length.

is that...... safe? do i have to seal the ends? i've done that with longer pedal multi out adapters, dunno about flying bus cables at ALL.

Thanks meng, the bass noises are all from switching Matter patches on the fly.

hey dumb question. is 0 to 9v-12v not a common CV voltage range? i see most stuff has maybe 0-5v or -5/5v
but theres so many modules and different schemes.
i've googled it a bunch of times and it still seems all over the board.

also i see a lot of attenuator modules for bringing a voltage down. is there like amplifying modules for increasing the cv?
how does one deal w/ all the seemingly different voltage schemes between different devices?
do u usually stick to one scheme and try to keep it tight like that or is it pretty easy to interface between and i'm just missing it?

Here's what I recommend, without taking the time to justify each. +/-5v (or more) for LFOs, 0-8v (or more) for envelopes, at least 5v for gates/triggers. That will get you in the ballpark for each function, if you are looking at anything below those ranges you need to justify it for your system somehow.

Generally attenuation is a bigger need than amplification. If you need to amplify audio there are lots of VCAs that have that function, but the need to amplify CV is rarer, and I don't know much about it other than it's a thing. Would personally get CV modules that exceed my required range and attenuate them.

With sequencers: it depends on how you're gonna use it. To me an ideal sequencer would have a +/-10v range and also offer very fine resolution for dialing in specific voltages, but this doesn't exist really so you make some compromise.

"Folkular" Just the start for a new patch but I really like where this is going. So far just Braids, Quad VCA. Clouds, Varigate 8+, Voltage Block, Dunst and Mixology.
