How so? Every choice you make on behalf of your kid before they're able to analyze and decide for themselves, either inside or outside the social norm, can in that case be called indoctrination. Doesn't really seem like a point at all to me.
Ehhhhh I mean dude you're clearly just really wanting to argue based on it being me who said it and not really out of any actual disagreement with what was said but hey ill play along its been awhile since a whole page of a thread has been dedicated to how I'm a total piece of shit. Here goes:
You are wrong because you ignore my argument. Most people do so don't feel sad. See what i said was "I kinda disagree with making fundamental lifestyle choices for children based on a personal moral compass or a parroting of your parents practices". What you said is "SPACERITUAL is saying that making any choices whatsoever for your children is indoctrination".
It should now be evident that you are wrong both on a philosophical level and on the level that you were addressing my argument. Also holy shit them logic fallacies be flying around like horny bats and shit.
Anyway. My argument was essentially that raising your kid to be X because X aligns with your personal MORAL and not necessarily an overall ETHICAL ideal is going to create animosity in the long run and that i personally wish that didn't exist between myself and my parents, who I love very much.
LETS HAVE AN EXAMPLE:
Billy bob loves his son. Billy bob personally believes that gays are bad. Billy bob raises his son to not be gay and believe that gays are bad. Billy bobs son blows a dude and likes it. Billy bobs son is conflicted because he very much loves and respects billy bob, who taught him that gays were bad, but he also totally likes being gay. Regardless of whether or not billy bob disowns or accepts his son, there will always be some resentment based on this.
This is my argument. What is not my argument looks like this:
Billy bob teaches son not to run out into traffic, this is TOTALLY INDOCTRINATION.
So we see the dividing line, in my opinion, between MORALS and ETHICS.
Thank you. Namaste.
