I assume that would mask my traffic to particular sites, but wouldn't really help with stuff coming into a torrent client, right?

I use pia and haven't gotten any notices while using it. Downloads are def slower. I've also used it to watch Netflix "in France" to get a different mix of shows. the shows you see in Netflix are governed by your ip country code.
Yeah...at this point it's not a hassle I'm willing to risk if a few bucks a month can preemptively solve the problem for me.

Hadn't considered the idea of accessing different streaming stuff via other countries. BONUS :!!!:

FWIW, and I may be remembering wrong, but I think the guy that runs this site uses PIA. I may start using PIA.
Thanks!

Like DOS, I too use PIA for legitimate work reasons. It's a lot safer using something like that when you're at a hotel or coffee shop using the internet. Definitely makes things a hair slower, though.

You guys and your fancy legitimate work reasons :!!!:

Bought a PIA subscription last night and got everything set up. I checked everything out with ipleak.net - at first it was failing the WebRTC check, but a chrome extension fixed that.

Looks like it's leaking DNS requests though - Usually one or two of the six servers are from the vpn, but at least half are the same as when I run the test without the VPN enabled. Any suggestions to fix this, or should I not worry for my purposes since it passes the IP address checks and torrent check?
