Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
Yeah, that's also what I'm thinking, but I have to test it further. Haven't tried combining Match end of rise/cycle gates into the Mysteron, but I'll try that soon.
& thank y'all for the kind words.
I discovered an audio feedback patch. I multed the output of a telharmonic drone through the optomix, monitoring the drone and sending a copy into an envelope follower. The envelope follower was used to control telharmonic's centroid, which sweeps the harmonics that are emphasized in the output. As the modulation would emphasize high harmonics, the telharmonic's output changed, which in turn altered the voltage on the envelope follower, which then affected centroid again, creating the loop. I kept the centroid control low and froze a resonant bass harmonic to keep the modulation in the lower register against a constant tone. T'was very binaural beat-like, but more random, but still had cool flow to it. Needed a lot of attenuation along the way.

It's nice to see somebody getting a modular and not starting by making a bass synth patch

Cause nobody's doing drone modular patches.

Well, his description was not that of a drone. And drones come in many forms, anyway.actualidiot wrote:Cause nobody's doing drone modular patches.
But my point was mostly that it's nice to see people getting a modular and not just making things they could do better with a simple monosynth.

who was it that is Capitan Pimp Hands with the Morphing Terrarium?
because i gots a Morphing Terrarium on the way.
WOOT.
was looking at the MXT expander? useful? not worth the 4hp?
i want a Disting, but i kinda need to find a Grayscale or other silvery panel for it...... and Grayscale is out of stock. anybody else besides Magpie do panels?

Embrace the mismatch panels!
About that expander, I'd wait to see if you like the alternative modes first.

For real, it's all in no exceptions or mismatch EVERYthing and spread them out... IMODark Barn wrote:Embrace the mismatch panels!

I'm glad my title has remained intact.
The expander is cool if you need/think you'll need to turn off the smoothing (I think that's what it does?). That is basically the opposite of what I want to do, and I don't really need to use attenuators with the CV so I skipped it. Your mileage may vary.

lol. at least in the main rack. the skiff i'm.... not as into the Mutant Snare and Mutant BD as i thought i'd be. the Mutant Hats is PIMPERLICIOUS though. have a messy drum module coming that's black mostly and thinking about swapping the Snare/BD for a Bitbox and loading it with butts butts of one shots.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
The question you need to ask yourself is "what do I not want"
.
To get away from buying and a bit more toward using : I realized that something that works really well for me is to have one voice in my patch with a series of potentially overdriving/fucking shit up modules and let the changes in amplitude over the audio path drive the dirt/degeneration of the sound. A delay somewhere in there can be useful too but it can become too much. For example : Ultrafold wavefolder, CP3 mixer, Bastl Cinnamon and even Pico DSP clipping a bit at the end.
I also need to really get my hands out of my ass and properly record bits of bass, guitar and reface YC to create useful sound banks for my Radio Music.
