Anyone here a chef?

Post by Antlerface »

Would love to find a fuzz homie to be a food homie with, 'and talk about recipes, technique, and hopeless gear addiction.

Full disclosure didn't use search so if this is redundant y'all can fire me.

LOL. We have a modest cooking thread here: viewtopic.php?f=42&t=43860

Although, I'm sure there're others around here somewhere too if you search back far enough. :idk:

I cook a ton, have goobed out over it pretty hard over the years. Kinda tamer these days but always down to talk about it.

And yep, GAS definitely bleed over into the cooking world. :)*

Anyone know a chef who isn't a terrible person? That's the real struggle.

I went to culinary school, but I didn't like working as a chef. Long, late, underpaid, stressful hours. I still enjoy cooking a lot. It's one of my favorite things to do, just not professionally.

Unrelated: Invisible Woman grew up thinking 'chef' was a curse word very similar to 'bastard.'

Wow. That's an odd one coming out of invisible camp. Invisible family is full of surprises.

She went to private school until ninth grade. Significantly hampered her vocabulary.

Yeah man that's some seriously rough work. I've had lots of friends say shit like "you should go to culinary school/be a chef/yada yada" because I've gotten so into it over the years. That'd take all of the fun out of it for me, though—I would completely buckle under the stress. Plus like... no money. Wahhhhh.

Yeah, and then, on top of all the stress that's inherent in the job, you've got a head chef yelling at you to follow his every little command. I simply can't do that.
