Pro Oscillateur, Pro Gluttony :excellent:
That Sapel is gorgeous. Meng Qi style knobs too.
Considering that I've still (or...only) got 3 rows left to fill, I think I'm going to want a lot of my future modules to be super small, Picos, 2HP and the like. Time to start laying in some serious density.
The new Pico voice oscillator looks awesome from the description, and they just continue killing it with the whole line. One of the hardest working companies in it for sure, they are just constantly pounding out great stuff.
Otherwise I'm basically just waiting around for new stuff from Intellijel and Trogotronic, yawn.

Yeah the Pico osc is probably the next thing I'd like to add to my modest system.
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.

Speaking of VCAs I've been working my way through Fred Welsh's Synthesizer Cookbook which has tips for creating some classic synth approximations of other 'real world' instruments. It's written for any 2 oscillator synth but to do these in Euro I've been using a lot of VCAs, sometimes 4+ (Using some in place of a passive attenuator, which I have none of) for a single voice. So yeah, I got VCA game and just wanted to brag.

Care to share an example or two of such patches and what real world instruments they emulate? :)

Now tell me, where would one inquire if one wanted to acquire one of these so-called synthesizers, and is it safe to say that these will, in the near future, replace all the instruments we use today?

They're almost all based around sync and/or PWM, so you need oscillators with those features. I don't have the book with me but it covers a lot of ground, from banjo to flute. I'll try to post an example soon. I use the examples in the book loosely since none of my Euro gear can be dialed in precisely. A lot of the 'recipes' in the book call for things like .5 sec attack, 1 second delay, 24db filter with cutoff at 800mhz, that sort of thing.

I think the video Shark posted covers most of the patches, no? But thanks anyway. And thank you Shark.

I've tried patches similar to these in the past, but they didn't really satisfy. These seem to though.

Yeah, none of them in the book sound like the real deal, just in the ballpark.

Ruiner : I didn't mean that in a bad way, but you mentioned before starting getting modules that you would go slowly enough and learn to use it along the way, "not to reproduce past mistakes" (roughly paraphrased). I'm just being that annoying, whiny part of your conscience ;).

You obviously do what you want with your money, but you could probably get things that would be more useful to you if you paused the acquisitions train for a bit and focused more on what you already have (which is a badass but maybe not focused enough system). Now, if you're happy with it then it's good but I can't see how you could learn how to use all of that at the same time properly unless you spend your whole days in front of the thing...

Also, for the record : I'm kinda jealous of your Fraptools case (though I would prefer the 84HP one I think) ;).
