Yeah, thanks. I think you are right. The picture looks like the plate is longer than a normal 12ax7 but i'm sure the won't go for anything else than in the modules.

Roland/Boss will be doing another mass rollout, similar to their 9/09 campaign from last year. This launch, however, will be spread across 4 different dates.

https://www.gearnews.com/future-redefin ... -products/

May 26 - 4 drums/percussion products

June 1st - 2 new guitar products, 2 pro video products

June 20th - 2 new synths

June 23rd - 4 guitar products

---I'm hoping their synths will avoid green LEDs and offer some new options, instead of just hawking more rehashed digital Junos.

Wow has it really been 8 months since that stream? All I remember is how underwhelmed I was after it was done.

HOF2 coming soon (more details available 5/26). They've changed the bypass switch to accommodate a Mash feature, added more custom TP slots, and of course shimmer.

The 2nd teaser video hints at a reverb that can be faded out like a delay (likely employing the new Mash element).

As if I need more delay...

I'm definitely intrigued by a multi-head echo machine with more extreme warping options. One of the biggest flaws with tape emulators is that over-embellished, pseudo-chorus wash. If a tape-inspired pedal is actually going to embrace a less subtle and less realistic modulation element, though, then that could be a nice compliment to a multi-head delay engine.

This standalone, multi-head delay is inspired by vintage tape delay machines, and features 12 different syncopated delays. Then we added 2 different modulation settings to open even more sonic possibilities!

They told me that might be available again for Memorial Day. Unless there's a lot more e-mail requests, I doubt it will go into regular production, but it could be something that's available 3-4 times a year.

   There are so many good sounds in this! In warped, it sounds like an analog-voiced delay with a vibrato in the FX loop. It can also do a fairly convincing emulation of a vintage multi-head echo unit. At the right setting, you can dial in that nice kuh-klunk from something like a Binson.

These are in-stock, as well as the Mesmer at RKFX.

Obviously TCE added the shimmer because they were bombarded by the P&W/Instagram ambient players. I understand you have to keep your buyers happy....BUT...is it just me, or is TC's shimmer bank glassier and harsher than most shimverbs? It sounds a bit like flerb being strangled inside a test tube to me.

Moving beyond that one bank, I think the assignable mash feature, combined with the Toneprint software could be really cool for people wanting modulated verbs on a budget. I'm not a big exp pedal guy myself, but I could see this being nice for people who need something dynamic for live usage, while freeing up board space.

The footswitch expression feature looks like it'd be really uncomfortable unless you only play at home.
Normal expression pedals are uncomfortable enough without adding some awkward function that requires you to stick your leg out and try to vary the pressure on a tiny little switch.

Also, I was kinda hoping that "mash" was gonna be some sort of bitcrushing or dual function. :idk:

The mash feature shounds like a cool feature but the reliability of tc switches prior to the mash already gives me pause. I wonder how easily and affordably these mash switches can be fixed and what warranty they will have.

The Mash can be mapped to control whatever (on the Toneprints).
You can have it doing several things at once (up to 3 I think).
But of course you're limited to the options TC provide in the editor (which does not include bit crushing).

I think it feels pretty great. You can get a good degree of change with the pressure.
What it can't do is quick taps, it will interpret that as a bypass request.
Otherwise it's good at knowing what you're trying to do.
