Imagine a reverse delay in the loop! Or a PS-3!

I'm going to figure out how to make a "random" number generator then...

Re: Top Mounted Everything! And RRR v2 discussions!
Maybe I missed the post where you guys talk about it, but I can't imagine a use for an FXloop in a reverb... could you guys explain this to me, because it feels like I'm missing a very cool point.
I have fxloops on the skrecho and the old qtron+.. and theyre perfectly cool and very useful (don't use it on the tim infact tho) , since I understand their way of affecting the sound and the circuit.
I can't seem to make this mind leap on reverb, since I'm not really strong in this field.
Reverb is a very short delay afaik, so there is not a lot of use for an fxloop, aside putting some modulation BEFORE the mix control... otherwise I picture it being almost the same as putting a mod pedal before or after?
i really have no clue, and I'd appreciate some help in understanding what point Im missing... since I'm all in for cool stuff that enables new possibilities!

Well, a loop in a reverb pedal would IMO be awesome. Practically, it's use would probably only be noticeable or useful when using huge/dense reverb with long decay - so as to clearly hear the trailing tones and get the full taste of what the pedal in the loop is doing to those reverberations. For short, bathtub reverbs, this would probably be useless - but who uses that here anyway?
If I have reverb on - it is huge - always
What I would like, would be a medium speed/medium depth phase on the long reverb - washing the highs in and out - getting a undulating tone.
Also, a delay pedal in the loop would be cool too - especially for creating soundscapes.
Think if you had a reverse delay in the loop of a huge reverb. Way cool.
These are just some applications that I would try out. Hope this clarifies what people might do with the loop.
All in all, though, I think the loop is for dorks and nerds - like me. Useful?
Maybe not. Awesome - oh yes.

I like the idea of a reverse delay into a reverb ... but would it sound different than placing a reverse delay pedal after the reverb? this is what i cant figure out. today i'm kinda slow!
Edit: oh wait.. the dry signal would be different .. I get it now! hurray for me! right?

Yes! Your dry signal would be "left alone." Only the trails of the Reverb would ve effected. Like......only the "ahhhhhh" of the Reverb would be delayed/reversed. The "ploink" of your pick attack and dry sound would be unaffected, sitting on top of that mushy expanding spacey drifting yum yum Reverb.

Re: Top Mounted Everything! And RRR v2 discussions!
have we talked about tails(trails)?
sometimes i want to turn off the reverb, but i don't want it to cut off stiff. It's nice when the reverb resolves itself but the new sounds going in aren't being fed to the reverb circuit and stay clean.

I'm pretty sure they already discussed the buffer/TB options in past posts.
The buffered option (which I am sure Ryan will do amazingly
- don't freak out people
) will allow for the trails - and it will probably also help pickup your signal and keep it goin' strong until it hits your amp.
So yeah, pretty sure people already harped on that a lot in previous posts.
Gladly, because I think loops and stereo are a lot more interesting (but trails is a must in a full featured Reverb fo sho).
I am still perplexed about the "modulation section" - I want to hear it! I want to tweak it!

I think trails are worth developing for sure, I definitely plan on doing a prototype with buffered bypass.
I haven't been working on this much lately as we're trying hard to get the next round of miniberator boards ordered.. they need a couple little changes to the layout to make them a little easier to build and so I have to re-submit the gerber files and do the quoting process over... we're worried we could have another gap in Reverberator production again, around August or September, if we don't get these suckers ordered straight away.

Re: Top Mounted Everything! And RRR v2 discussions!
since there's a lot of discussion about which features are 'worth it' on the pedal - some people don't need stereo and others don't need loop, why not do a sort of thing like 4mspedals do on their website where you tick which features you want on the pedal, so you can have a basic bigberator which is less expensive than a bigbigbigberator with everything
i guess this would affect the PCB design but i think analogman just leaves the some of the components out of the PCB for the pedals which have less options than others (i know a guy whose analogman chorus has parts missing on the PCB because it's only in mono).

Good thought. However, I believe being able to choose your options on each unit would only be possible/effective if Ryan had a lot more hands on deck.

Ryan makes the pedals... but I'm pretty sure he doesn't really sell them unless you ask him or you're in a really odd country... The only way to buy dr scientist pedals are to buy them from dealers...so it would be a huge problem and a right faff... the way 4ms does that is pretty cool though, especially as their pedals are really customizable.
