Thank you. Glad someone agrees.

This course, a perpetual alternation of determining what is true, and then setting aside this determining, constitutes, strictly speaking, the steady everyday life and activity of perpetual consciousness, a consciousness which fancies itself to be moving in the realm of truth.

NYT: "Mr. Cornell was one of four prominent frontmen -- along with Kurt Cobain of Nirvana, Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam and Layne Staley of Alice in Chains -- who brought Seattle's sound to the national stage in the late 1980s and 1990s."

Two down. Two to go.

What is the point in making fun of someone's death? Do you derive some sick humor from it? Does it make you feel better about yourself?

I'm genuinely curious. I don't get it. Maybe I'm missing something funny here and am not in the know. Or maybe I don't find death funny.

I just had an introspective moment (rare) and realized I'm a huge hypocrite because Roger Ailes' death today made me smile. Right after I heard about Chris Cornell I thought "why is it that so many musicians keep dying but bloaviating scumbags that ooze racism and sexism continue to lumber around?", then blammo!

lol...i'll give you an honest answer: I dunno. Who knows why I, or anyone else, does what they do? I could come up with ad hoc rationalizations, point to a Nietzschean or Camusian absurdity, etc. I could say it's gallows humor. I could say, some super rich and privileged rock star killed himself. So what? All the lament. Why? Save your moral energy and melodrama for something that matters. Getting self-righteous on da fuzz forum!! But the truth is, I dunno. Maybe I just think Soundgarden sux. I'd rather take the moral high ground and not laugh at death. That's just me. I guess you can do whatever you want man and try and justify it away in some nonsense way.
