Best American adaptation is FUNNY GAMES U.S. and that's because the guy who did the original did a shot by shot remake ha-ha! I actually prefer it over the original.

The most needless adaptation I can think of is Let the Right One In. I think the remake was shot for shot (I had no interest in seeing it), basically just for lazy Americans who don't wanna "read their movies."

LET THE RIGHT ONE IN was perfect (except for that one scene with questionable CGI). I saw the trailer for LET ME IN and just couldn't make myself see it.
Then again, you would think with the marketing of MANCHESTER BY THE SEA, that is was some Michelle Williams vehicle and it is anything but that...that movie is masterpiece (used that word twice today).

Ended up buying Blade Runner with a recent purchase on Amazon. Watching it now with the girlfriend. I am absolutely loving it. She's asleep on the couch....
