Søren:
S as in Sidney
Ø as in Early, but move the back of your tounge, which is not close to the velar position more towards the hard palate and slightly lower your tounge to the middle of your mouth.
R as in....oh fuck. I'm not sure you have this r-sound in the American accent. The tounge is in the alveolar position rather than retroflex. Start with an American r and slightly sharpen your tounge and place the tounge tip close to the back of your teeth and apply the same amount of air.

Re: Naming Duh Fuzzbabies
For my son, the challenge was to find a name that was nice, sounded good and worked well both in Japanese and in French. And then there was the matter of chosing the kanji to write it, but that was 100% my wife's task
. Each kanji for a Japanese name can have a very specific meaning, and there are many different ways to spell each name, with characters that are more or less easy to read for most people. Babies naming books are apparently some next level type of brainfuck here, compared to european ones
.
Anyway, we ended up with something quite classic as far as French is concerned, apparently pretty cool in Japanese (from the reactions of other people so far) and easy enough to read for normal people : Louis / るい / 琉惟.
Also, I hope "Kurisu" is not the pseudo-Japanese pronunciation of "Chris"...
Edit : and he has a second and third names (Haruto and Francois), but only on his french passport. If they were written on the Japanese papers, he would HAVE to use them everywhere, and that would suck monumental balls. I know that first-hand.

Mike Fuller is a good 1, he's cool peeps
This course, a perpetual alternation of determining what is true, and then setting aside this determining, constitutes, strictly speaking, the steady everyday life and activity of perpetual consciousness, a consciousness which fancies itself to be moving in the realm of truth.

Re: Naming Duh Fuzzbabies
We had the same struggles with boy names. We also didn't want to give him a name that reminded us of anyone we knew.
Our list was:
Leonard
Oscar
Jacob
Henry
Owen
Julian
Sylvester
Sebastian
Middle name:
Darwin
Astro
Allen
Elias
Irving
Valentine
Emerson
We went with Sebastian. Leonard was a close second. Henry and Oscar have become oddly trendy.
And some rejects:
Ewan
Archimedes
Aleister
Solomon
Josiah
Jacob
Waldo
Emerson
Tobias
Samuel
Folsom
Spider
And some girl names, just in case:
Josephine
Aisling
Lily
Pepper
Nova
Astra

Re: Naming Duh Fuzzbabies
I have three girls, so I'm not help as I never really got to entertain the idea.
I will say some of the names are dual sex names and I personally don't like that, but that's just me.
How about Adam. Name of the first man and all...you know. It's a great name.
