My family and I just rented a whole house via AirBNB for a week in Washington DC and it was pretty great. If people were up for sharing something like that for a couple of nights, it could be a lot of fun.
What's the neighborhood we're talking about?
And what's the public transportation situation?

Did a venue get settled on? If it's PhilaMOCA, then the neighbourhood is Callowhill (or the Eraserhood). Public transportation is serviceable, but by no means a point of pride. It's really easy to get between Center City and any point in West Philly, or to head north or south along Broad Street or the north end of Front Street, but otherwise public transport usually involves buses.
