No i am actually curious as I wasnt aware France had the industry large enough to necessitate the infrastructure to launch.
Of course, that assumes that the infrastructure would be state owned, so if its private companies that makes a bit more sense, although i also thought there were quite hefty restrictions around that, from a governmental/bureahratic point of view.
Either way, it was something i didnt know before and would genuinely like to, and would rather ask darcy than google it because im cleaning up my kitchen and i prefer conversation.

Pope, all are true. Some parts are made in Sweden and Germany though now that the project has Ben Europeanized. France is an industry leader in everything aeronautic. Aérospatiale and Airbus are the brain child of socialist president François Mitterand. He was a Keynesian and therefore invested heavily in developing the French industry of the future, and did excellent at it. Airbus and the Ariane Rockets are excellent exemples of that.

Also French Guyana is not a colony. All ultra-marine French departements have via referendum decided to remain. You are well over half a century late.
