What module do you use for the output ? What kind of cable are you using (TRS, TRRS, etc.) ?

Also, I had a bit of time to do some coding for my Equation Composer yesterday and decided to check the Braids Composer alternative firmware (basically Braids running at 48khz instead of 96). Very nice... Good way to know if I'd like a "proper" braids, too :).

Good questions.

This vexes me. I am vexed on your behalf.

And what are you plugging it in ? A mixer or directly in something else ?
Also, what's the case ?

It sounds like some grounding fuckery happening but that sort of stuff can be a pain to diagnose through text only...

Plugging directly into any of my amps or my computer audio interface. Case is a doepfer A‑100LC3.

The noise definitely sounds like a grounding problem but can't figure out where the issue is! I'm going to take the rack apart and try various things piece by piece when I have some time later this week... just thought I'd start with the assumption I'd done something really dumb and obvious to someone who knows what they're talking about.

EDIT: could it be because I'm running the modular off a 2 prong plug with no earth? That doesn't seem great.

This would be something to try and change, for sure.

I was actually thinking about a grounding issue. Some of the cheaper included switching power supplies suck.

Finally got around to switching the trogotronic stock ones out for meanwell...Fixed the same problem (though mine was maybe worse beyond that...It had a kinda floating center on everything that didn't let oscillators tune easy or vcas to totally close..
When I attached the ground to my other skiff, fixed it.).

@monkey I bet the 2 prong chord is your issue

I've spent the day looking into LFOs for my incoming system 101 :!!!: there is so much shit out there.. bubblesound ulfo is looking like the deal for me. decided to hold off on the fancy stuff like clouds till I really figure this shit out. that spectre module in BST seems suuuper cool tho  easy to get lost looking at the hip stuff

Sometimes switching from a switching to linear supply will do the trick too.

The Morphagene looks amazing, but is way outside my price and hp budget.

Also, as far as LFOs go, Xaoc Batumi is the best thing in existence. I absolutely love mine.

@resincum

Get a Batumi. By far the best LFO source.

Yea, batumi is cool and I agree might be tops.

Some fun alternatives (with some different applications too):
-Toppobrillo Sport Modulator (and, by extension, Make Noise Function...Kinda in the same boat) it is nice because of the build in comparator and the ability to make it stepped and stuff...Lots going on for only 4 knobs.
-Pretty much any Serge slope gen (or inspired by or influences like maths/rampage/281)
-4ms QPLFO...Dead simple and not a lot of fancy, but you've got four tap tempos or up to four triggered envelopes
-Neat oscillators like the CG xr-22...Kinda can draw your own by flipping the frequency and quickly shifting with CV control over both sides plus ring mod...Better as an LFO than a pure oscillator. The Richter osc ii is another one for the phasing
-Verbos Multistage Voltage source or Multi Envelope (tons of outputs and can self cycle)

Cheap:
-I like the synthrotek

You can use a fast switch with an end of loop thing to trigger the switch to get fake through zero on some oscillators for modulation (bastl Dynamo)

Also, with a switch and inverter you can make everything bipolar.

Or

Get ST to build a sloth chaos for you
