i loved playing mtg on cockatrice with my friends. not sure if they got c&d'd, but the new version wouldn't run on my laptop anyway.
weird stuff for the win though. my current non-edh casual deck focuses on stealin' everyones creatures and turning them monkeys.

I was watching the other band playing MTG in the bar before your Toronto show on the last tour. I didn't even realise they were the band until I saw them on stage not long after

RIP UG Snekkks and Progenitus EDH deck.
YES! I loved playing Magic before everyone got so cutthroat about tiny decks and fastest kills. Coming up with crazy weird theme decks was wayyyyyyyy more fun! :)*

I taught my wife to play using 30 card single color decks, then combining two of them for 6o card decks. Now she has a green elf deck and a white kithkin deck and can kick my ass if I'm not careful.

I recently took a position as a youth services librarian for teens at the local library. I plan on teaching some of them to play the same way, and hopefully starting a club of some sort.

Is there any reason to get something other than a dual decks pack for 2 people who have never played this game?

I mean, even for people who know the game but don't want to spend more time and money, these are great. It's basically a board game, and the temptation to get more cards is much, much lower.

As I mentioned earlier, I bought a set of 8 duel decks (4 sets) that was for some reason on sale one year or so ago and used them to play with a co-worker. We both have experience playing the game much more years ago and we both enjoyed these.

yeah. i totally agreed. should've expanded upon but got lazy.

game is super fun. my friend john always keeps a million decks around and i love jamming those. i do play online even though the mtgo client is kind of trash.
