In a time where mainstream news media only reports on vapid, self-indulgent celebrities, I was wondering where ya'll get your news? I personally use...
Did I ever tell you guys about my supervisor whose top three presidents are, and he's not sure in what order to place them, but they're his top three. Washington, Lincoln, Reagan.

My mother and my friends. They're all nutso about politics and recent happenings so I just listen to them. Not gonna lie, I watch Colbert and Jon Stewart pretty frequently but by no means do I expect those to deliver reliable stories.
I check news.yahoo.com (aggregate of AP, Reuters, etc) and Huffington Post. HP is fixated on celebrity as well, but it's an otherwise good aggregate...I often read stories there a couple days before they make mainstream/cable media.
usually most news stories from around the world are shifted back and forth between the agencies through Reuters or A.P....and they're both owned by one company...therefore I'll run around on the web to tons of different news sites...if I see something being reported in 3 different parts of the globe then i'll start doing my homework...usually though when the whole world is up in arms over something worth reporting the good ole US of A's media falls silent...until the Jonas Brothers get caught sucking dick for crack or something then the hounds are unleashed and it's all we hear about for 3 months
There are no mistakes, save one: the failure to learn from a mistake...Robert Fripp
I've become jaded by the news media. I don't even like MSNBC anymore. And i'm as liberal as they come. Keith Olbermann is dreamy. I just can't stand the bullshit factor anymore.

NY Times, The Daily Beast and NPR are probably my most read news sources. The Daily Show for news-lulz. Every once in a while a check out Drudge Report for some counterpoint/conservative spin as I generally agree with the left/Democrat side of things.
