Re: ILF BOOK CLUB
But he hates ebooks...
I love my kindle, myself. Useful as fuck. There are still some books I also want to have in print but most of the time the electronic version is more than enough.

Abebooks, IP? Bought tons of stuff there for dirt cheap.
Looking through my copy--chapters are about 10-12 pages apiece...around thirty chapters total.
I'm thinking let's shoot for a two month window, which would mean about four chapters a week (40-50 pages). Is that reasonable?

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.

Re: ILF BOOK CLUB
I'm down for a schedule. It would greatly help me to have some sort of timeline for these. I still haven't finished the book I was reading, but I could go grab it and be done by noon or sooner. So maybe I'll do that.
I'm going to try and track down a used copy of this or see if they have it on the Nook. I have saved gift cards.
Can I suggest a few??

I am in. I read this book last year, but I think I remember enough to discuss. I'll be all in on the next one, as long as it isn't horror : ) The world is fucked up enough and I am a sensitive little flower when it comes to gore.

What about physiological horror or detective type stuff? Some of what I like isn't just gore. It's mind bending.aens_wife wrote:I am in. That depends. I really liked Warren Ellis' "Gun Machine", which is a super well written crime novel. But it totally fucked me up for a few days. I actually texted Ben during the scary part and he may or may not have teased me for being scared. lol.jwar wrote:What about physiological horror or detective type stuff? I don't think I could do psychological horror. It gets into my head and I end up thinking about fucking awful stuff for weeks after I am done reading it.

I had a friend who had to have my now wife physically hide her copy of Danielewski's House of Leaves because it would get her so worked up.aens_wife wrote:That depends. A Darker Shade of Magic was pretty sweet, keep meaning to pick up the second one.
When are we starting this, btw? Not that I'm in a hurry or anything, just keeping up to date

Re: ILF BOOK CLUB
So should I get the book or what??? Am I too late? What's the status bros?
I vote for some Tom Piccirilli for the next one. I liked the book Shadow Season and highly recommend it. He's a brilliant writer. I also like Greg Gifune. Mind twisting and very hard to follow stuff. LOVE IT. I can look at what I've got and recommend it.

Yeah scoop it up! There still isn't a plan at all so you aren't behind anything.

Yeah I'll post up the schedule in the next day or two, but we didn't plan to start in earnest til next week. You can always read whatever you want--we'll just cap talking about things in the thread by dates and segments.
