Plus one for the xerograph. Also 3leaf wonderlove is great and exactly what I use for this. Sweep with exp pedal is great. Has band pass and low pass options too.

Ooh, the Wonderlove is a good shout! OP, if you're based in the UK keep an eye on the bass direct website as they pop up used there for not lots of cash reasonably often (got mine from there).

Moog
Xerograph
BitQuest

In that order (I think).

That thing sounded amazing, all it needs is a stomp swtich

Looks like I'll be saving my pennies for a Xerograph then! Probably an obvious question but can the envelope follower be bypassed on the Deluxe? I can't see me using it much but it'd be nice to have the option there.

It can't on the old deluxes. Well, it could, you just turned it down all the way. On the new ones it's switchable.
I've got a xero standard, I'm considering getting a new deluxe. Pm if you're interested in a standard and we can talk details.

Not a "pedal" but the Erica Synths Acid Box. I assume you can plug a guitar or bass in? It is a rude filter though.

Acidbox is a wicked filter, I love it so much. Don't know how well it handles instrument level stuff

Get the Moog. It does the envelope thing, but the follower is controlled by a knob so you dont have to get the envelope sound. You can connect an exp pedal for manual sweep if you want it.

It goes crazy low, crazy fat, and can absolutely destroy both your cab and your hearing.
