This year's modules from Intellijel are actually quite good.

Four of them are now in my plans to finish my 7U case : the Quad VCA (good features/size, smart normalization), the Pusher (not seen at NAMM but spotted on Instagram) and a couple of 1U modules: the clock/noise/random pulse generator/sample or track and hold/slew limiter and the accutronics reverb module.

I'll probably replace my uVCF with a Warm Star Mountain once they're available, too.

I've been sitting on this all for longer than I can stand. Here's the lowdown on what's new from one of my favorite modular synthesizer companies - @intellijel
From top left:
1. SHIFTY
Both a shift register and a Korg mono/poly style output sequencer. Output Selectable, directional, and controllable. Up to four unique voices, one voice per step - polyphony.
2. PUSHER
Two channel voltage/trigger sequencer/looper. Program rhythms/patterns in real time and fire them manually or loop them. Clock input provides the previously missing link.
3. 1U NOISE UTILITY
featuring sample/hold - track/hold, slew, clock, and noise module. Everything that was missing is here now in 1u.
4. PLONK
A truly magnificent physical modeling percussion module (and so much more.) a resonator section, super fast load times, and fully addressable via control voltage up to pseudo polyphony (one sound for each step.)
5. QUAD VCA
A beautiful 4 channel VCA which offers mixing, VCA function as well as a 6db boost per channel.
6. 1U DIGI TANK
A tiny, but fantastic sounding digital reverb. Just the thing for that odd space leftover in the 1u rail.
NOT SHOWN:
7. SPRINGRAY II
A completely redesigned springray module with parametric EQ, and a beautifully clarified sound.
8. 104hp PERFORMANCE CASE
new pricing on the 84hp version, with a power supply change as well.
9. SOFT CASE COVERS
Coming soon, black covers for the performance cases. Much needed ergonomic protection for our beautiful Intellijel cases on the move.
10. TETRAPAD
A multi function four channel pressure and touch control surface and more. Fire voltages, set up chord structures, configure and modify in real time. Link more than one together internally, and go! A brain is discussed which would offer sequencing and clocks, but there is also talk of integration with other modules to interact with the TETRAPAD for interesting results.
Absolutely amazing. So excited to get there tomorrow and spend more time with these brilliant modules.

There is a reason everything I build is panel mounted parts . Absolutely can't stand wiring shit for the same reason.

I like the Disting display, definitely makes it easier to go through patch banks, don't know if I'll sell my Mk3 for a new one though.

That display makes a lot of sense. I have to look up a manual pretty much every time I want to use my MK1. I used to have a cheat sheet around somewhere, I wonder where that went. Anyway, I joked somewhere that I would wait until MK5 before I sold my MK1, looks like that might be next year

I'm very interested in the Shifty. Seems like I can use that as a fun ASR and then free up my O_C for more fun things.

Plonk seems awesome as fuck for more out there drum sounds. Gonna wait on a demo though to see what it makes vs. what I can do currently with Rings.

In other news: I'm going to start sawing the wood for my new case next week. Setting this stuff up, I can see why people charge over $1k for doing this stuff.

New Disting: Glad I waited now, but I'll probably be fine without it for another year/version or two.
I am definitely down for the Tetrapad and Plonk. Pusher is also cool, but it's not going to replace my Tri-ger (pretty sure the "previously missing link" line is in reference to the lack of clock input on the Tri-ger). I'm stocked up well enough on multipliers and dividers now that it's not an issue for me. A lot of Qu-bit stuff seems to be pretty polarizing - you either love it or hate it. I like some of their new stuff in spite of the HP hogging (which is obviously meant to make it less cramped and more comfortable to play around with), especially the Rhythm module, seems like one of the best drum sequencers for live/improv performance.

$289 is a steal for that...

Broke ass is a real condition suffered by people who dump their income into gear.

I don't think he's too worried about damaging his gear.

He built a synth setup into his bike where the tempo syncs to the front wheel.
