Dude that first rhyme literally only works if you're from London.

It should read "in whom", as well.

Unless jwar is just about thrusting his erection at girls named Shona.

I'm not going to say that isn't the case, but we should get some context here.

I've uploaded some noise and creative samples, still learning this recording stuff and it's been a struggle to get levels sorted, think my pedals are set to high and clip quite a lot but they are the perfect volume for my amp so have to tweak it lots.

I would love to contribute some guitaring. I've got a heavy riff I'm liking a lot right now, hopefully ready by the weekend.

So I have a question here. SO that we don't have a bunch of randomness. Should we do this as such.

One person or several persons work on guitar. Start with one persons idea and build on it.

Then write the bass lines from there (if we can the drums as well).

Finally write lyrics around the music. Lots of bands do this and it works wonderfully.

Or we could chose specific existing songs and make them in our own image as a way of getting a groove started.

Thoughts?

My fear is it will turn into a dumping ground of noise and not an actual song. LOL. Which will be fun too, but I want to have a creative process here.

I'll get some drums up before too long. I'll try to play to what people have posted. I'll probably put up some noodling, too, but...people can sample it, or chop it, or run it through pedals or whatever, too. There's still lots of ways to manipulate it.

Here is my suggestion, to keep this somewhat organized:
1) Pick a tempo, a key, and a genre.
2) Pick a song structure - do you want a traditional structure, e.g. intro, verse, chorus, bridge/solo, outro structure, some variation, or something completely experimental?
3) Have the drummers lay down drum tracks in accordance with 1 and 2 above.
4) Lay down bass tracks.
5) Layer on guitars, different guitarists for different parts of the song.
6) Write lyrics.
7) Add vocals.
8) If that doesn't work, drink heavily, have a fucking good laugh, and try again.
9) If that does work, drink heavily, have a fucking good laugh, and try again for song #2.

Actually, I like to improvise, which is why I like the idea of the rhythm section first, but hey, it's your project and your call.

I personally rather be less formal with my stuff. Put up a rough idea I have that I'm not rolling with solo and let anyone roll with it from there.

If you find a drum thing you like, build on it. If you have a guitar bit you like, build on it. That kind of thing.

BTW, here's a list of people currently on there. just so that you can share things with individuals if you don't want to share it with the whole group:
