Penny Dreadful
I finished this about two weeks ago and I'm still enthralled by it. It has/had it all. Anyone else seen it?
If you haven't I highly, highly recommend it. Good show get into around Halloween as well.

Re: Penny Dreadful
It is a good thing and I like it. Have only watched season one but I'm moving into the 2nd season soon.
It also makes me feel literary n' junk cuz I like totally get a lot of the bookish references, or something.

It's an amazing show. I was a little disappointed in how the whole thing ended, but overall, fantastic.

I've watched the first two seasons. I love it! I never thought I'd be able to appreciate Josh Hartnett, as an actor... Hope to get to the third season sometime soon.

I watched all of the first season and loved it. The my wife kind of lost interested so we let the showtime subscription go and I haven't watched it sense. Been meeaning to go back to it because it gets a lot of check boxes for me. Horror. Religion/occult. Book references. Plays on a lot of sweet tropes. Very well done.

Haven't watched season 3 yet. My friends tell me to skip it and that it ruined the show for them. True?

I think they ended it well and I was a little disappointed cause I wanted it to go on, but that is more cause I loved the show so much.
We're used to shows going on and on - GOT and such - but the show ended at season three because they finished telling the story. I don't want to give anything away. I think they did the right thing ending it that way. If they kept going they would have started down the path of trying to keep it interesting and possibly/likely comprising the quality of the story to do so.

My wife's been watching those on Netflix, and seemed to enjoy it. It wasn't my sort of show, and just seemed like a hodgepodge of supernatural shit lumped together and presented as a steaming pile of edgy to me.

Re: Penny Dreadful
I've always preferred a show to have an actual ending rather than just go on until it gets bad and you forget why you ever liked it. I'll start season 3 then. Thanks!
