About the vibrola - I don't get why everybody gets rid of them. They work like a charm with the wrap around bridge as the bridge can "wiggle" a small amount back and forth. IIRC the vintage ABR-1 functions the same way. Although finding a properly bent after market vibrola can be a tricky process. I had to go through a couple different ones before finding the one that had the correct break angle.
what did you do to your SG?(or clone/copy/whatever)

Nice looking SG, HorseyBoy!
That's the model / look I was aiming for.

I sold it. I didn't like it. Too heavy and bad weight distribution.

Re: what did you do to your SG?(or clone/copy/whatever)
Went and dug up this thread, because I did something to my SG. I DID SOMETHING MAN!!
This is a 2008 special faded that I bought used. Well worn but nothing wrong with it, except I found the stock pickups a bit lacking. After some searching I came across Catswhisker pickups, made by this nice guy Allan in the UK at a very reasonable price, so I got a widerange HB (bridge) and HB-sized P90 (neck) from him. They're not wax potted AFAIK, which I like.
Finally got (drunk enough) to install them yesterday, and although I struggled a bit and left a couple small burn marks, I think I got the soldering down alright. A noob in that area.
I'm still experimenting with the height of course, but so far I really dig the sound. The P90 has a nice bite and the wide ranger is chunky as hell, which I didn't expect. But I've only played a little so far, plus I restringed the bastard today so that feels a bit weird. Got a set of Infeld Superalloy 011-052. This guitar is in open E tuning.

I had the Jimmy Page mod done on my SG—the pickup configuration that was available on the JP signature model. All four knobs push/pull and get tons of combinations of coil tap / series / parallel etc.
Frankly I did this when I was like 22 and thought it was fucking awesome at the time. Recently I was thinking I wanna get new PUs and put the wiring all back to spec.

Has anyone in here done an SG VI? I've been thinking about building one.

Love SGs! Thanks for reviving this thread! I have so many plans for my SG but it doesn't get that much play time so I never pull the trigger. So far it has a set of JB/jazz pups (that I wan't to change for p90s), new reflector knobs and straplocks.
I also really want to SG vi that cheap epiphone eb-0

I've been wanting an SG for ages, am currently planning to buy one by the end of the year. They just seem like the most ideal guitars to have, tonnes of sustain and can do like every genre well.

I don't know how I didn't come across this thread before, but here's my Epi with Seymour Duncan Black Winter pickups:
