The name of the store and the name of your company don't really have to be the same, do they?

No, they don't, but I'm trying to learn from all the mistakes I made with my board game shops. Having a legal name that doesn't match the store name is kind of a nightmare in ways you wouldn't expect.

On a purely logistical note, I have to choose the name before I know for sure what street it's going to be on, and as funny as I think it would be to open Baltimore Avenue Guitars on Chestnut Street, I think it would be confusing for customers.

That's a good point. Look at all the problems Burlington Coat Factory has.
