My kittie needs some surgery!

Post by colossus »

So my exploratory, sometimes dumb kittie ate something in the apartment and it wrapped up his little tubes. :(

He should be OK, but he needs surgery to remove it...multiple thousands of dollars worth of surgery. Unfortunately, while my girlfriend and I have put away some money for issues like this, we have accrued nowhere near the cost of this surgery in the six months we've had him. And I'm a graduate student and she's a barista...so it's just an awful financial situation. I'm not particularly fond of asking for charity, especially of people I mostly don't know in "real" life, but we're running out of options. We started a GoFundMe and would be forever grateful if you could help out in any way at all. And obviously, feel free to share this elsewhere.

Here's some more pictures of the special guy:

And believe me, he too loves fuzz! And modular synths, and guitars, and all such nice things.

I kind of doubt it, but then again...

Unfortunately it's on the urgent side of things so traveling isn't an option. But yeah, I know he'd eat me. But he's so cute that I don't care.

Thank you so much, man! It's really, really, really appreciated.

And yeah, I'm thinking insurance is a must. We talked about it when we got him but figured he was only 1 y/o so the likelihood of needing it seemed slim. I know better than that now.

Good news! Surgery is done and went well. He managed to find a purple ribbon in the apartment and tied up his internals with it. He'll be at the vet through tomorrow but everything should be good.

Glad to hear everything went well! I'm in the same boat as DoS at the moment, but I might be able to chip in shortly if my client for the past several months ever decides to actually pay me. Give that kitter some pats for me in the meantime :hobbes:
