Her.
But, i'm getting my truck fixed, then going to be living out of it. I was an NYC XVX crust punk twink. Then a southern dyke. Haven't lived full time on the west coast yet, but i did spend some time ooging around, trimming weed, looking like a gay Trent Reznor, and having disappointing sex with gay men. No clue what a digital being is.
I am a fuck up, because gay anarcho-punk.

I must say that is one of my favorite responses in recent memory. Always a fave, Psychic.

Re: Stranger Things
When I said him I was referring to Reznor! As far as digital being - for some reason I always imagine you as looking like an extra from the movie Hackers. Please don't take that the wrong way, it has to do with you love of sequencers and nasty bass tones. I always imagine lots of goggles and maybe some LED displays built into a leather* duster. I'm not entirely sure why, really it's the sequencer love and the user name.

Re: Stranger Things
Ah. Got it now. I do love sequencers and nasty bass tones. And i do have goggles that i wore as part of a Trent Reznor costume. No dusters, but real leather.
How are you liking Stranger Things? I've watched it twice now.

I had a roommate do this, too. He would disappear for a week or so, then come back and party for three. One week on, three weeks off. Back when Pfizer was in Ann Arbor. I called him 'Ghost' because 1) he was never totally present mentally; 2) he was not around a lot; 3) he was always high af on either experimental meds or more mundane and common substances; 4) he was the most pale person I've ever seen.psychic vampire. wrote:I don't know that i'd describe myself or any of my friends as wastoids, but i did have a recent conversation with my friend who hasn't held a job in like 4 or 5 years about whether she could ever work at taco bell. Morality in general, I'd say. But high school kids who do that shit are dirtbags. I don't care for SUVs, either, but had to drive one (and live in it, incidentally) when my car caught fire. What if someone's just borrowing a car? Messing with peoples' food is not funny to me--just a power trip for bored teenaged assholes.psychic vampire. wrote:Another friend of mine worked at an Arby's in high school with her friend and whenever an SUV came through the drive through they would step on the buns. I don't approve of the behavior, but it was a funny story. Morality in High School is a weird, arbitrary thing.

Yep. Nailed it. There's still room to do more, though. The vampire thing is a good idea, though imagine, say, the X-Men and their powers with a similar treatment.Seance wrote:
What we do in the shadows is close to what you're talking about.
More mundane. Vampires with roommates.
No McDonald's though.

Not at all--at least not what I was thinking. Maybe I missed something. I have faith, too, that any idea I have filtered through PV is likely to be improved/unrecognizable. Either way, I'd totally watch this.

Not exactly a "mockumentary" but Demonlover has an interesting iteration of a character dressing as Storm from X-Men.Invisible Man wrote:Yep. Nailed it. There's still room to do more, though. The porn/superhero genre also has lots of room left to explore as well. Maybe there should be a superhero-porn mockumentary?

Would explain a fair amount, tbqh:

Only saw the terrible J. Depp movie, so my knowledge is limited.
I'm thinking like a much more mundane take on supernatural phenomena. Like (not that I'm accusing you of this, PV), a bunch of burnouts or 'wasteoids' with cool abilities who just work at McD's or something. Since so much of the fantasy is really just 'what would you do with your powers,' it'd be cool to see people just having fun in ways that we all understand without any kind of world-ending scenarios upping the ante. Stoners with astral projection abilites...suburban dads who can fly (?)...parking lot attendants who can become invisible...you know.
There are a couple examples of this kind of thing and the tone I'm thinking of, but they're on the tip of my brain. Creature Comforts keeps springing to mind, but that's not quite right.

And vampires. Though i'm partial to werewolves.
I watched the last two episodes of Stranger Things again last night. They were as good as i remembered (from two weeks ago). God damn. Season 2 when?

Re: Stranger Things
Oh, and w/r/t destruction of food, yeah, i mean, not into it bc i had to drive an SUV for a period of my life, but i try to just smile, remember that high school kids are absolute abominations, and i probably did some shitty ass things in my time to deserve shitty ass things in return.
One time my friends and i all theater-hopped into that Simon Pegg body-snatcher movie, doing poppers and talking loudly over the movie for like the first ten minutes, then got bored and decided we were hungry, so we left the movie we had gotten into for free. Two nights later i told this boy i was crushing on about the experience, and he said he wanted to see the movie, so we tried to sneak in on like a Monday or Tuesday night. Suffice to say, we got spotted as soon as we tried to walk past the ticket taker without giving him tickets, and we proceeded to spend the next 15 minutes walking in a circle around the theater doing poppers and laughing while the manager trailed 30 feet behind us telling us we had to leave the theater. Then we finally left, got in the car, i flashed my boobs at the manager, and we went home and he fucked me in the butt, but i had to stop bc he was huge. Best date of my life. There's your pilot episode.

I don't understand where you're seeing the 'different pronouns' thing in what I said. That's the disconnect. I get the rest of it.

Re: Stranger Things
I may have outsubtexted myself but I thought that was right along the lines of your pitch -- like usually supernatural beings get slightly different pronouns?
IDK man I'm just witchhunting/fishing for silly internet arguments (to the shock of absolutely no one, I'm sure). It's the slow season in my line of work.
